Does anyone know how to resolve this issue. When i turn on my new comp it loads to desktop in 1024 x ??? resolution but it's set at 1360 x ???. But when i reboot it again it goes to the resolution i set it at. Also the graphics card fan goes really loud then silent then loud. Any ideas?

Ye i know but i wanted to see if there was an option to stop it. As when i reboot straight after it stops. Seems odd to me

Nope cant stop it. My Ati does it aswell as did my last ati card going all the way to the 9800 pro.... I assume it will be power on test safety feature of sorts. For example if you dont here the fans prob broke lol (which is not uncommon) :D

Is that not because the drivers don't kick in untill windows start? So it runs full speed.

I think the only way round this is to fit a aftermarket cooler, will do the same only quieter.

As for your res problem, you tried a new mobo battery?
If you turn your pc off at the plug and the battery is dead it'll reset to default settings.
