Hello folks.

So I was doing some online banking and noticed how some of the websites were a little "unresponsive". E.g. when you click one link it takes a little while for the next page to load, all the while if you hover the cursor over other links, it would not change into the "pointing hand" icon, indicating that I have to wait for the next page to load before I can start clicking again.

Is this anything to do with my PCs responsiveness or could this be an internet speed issue? Or a ping issue? Download speeds are ok (60Mbit, but pings sometime take some time to register).

The same is more or less happening in IE11 and Firefox.

Any input appreciated.

Try a different DNS server and see if that helps. I tried the default Virgin one for a while and didn't like it's reliability, so I changed to the Google DNS and found it to be much better.

Ok little update. Something significant.
I have AVG installed currently.
I disabled Resident Shield and the Linkscanner (for browsing/downloading and general OS protection), the system certainly feels "nippier".

Bit of a bummer that AVG is slowing things down, anyone have any other Antivirus/malware monitoring program recommendations?
