Rest In Peace Michael Jackson (No Disrespect Posts)

£10 on Gordon Brown getting in on the Sympathy act by the end of the day.

Too late.

London - British Prime Minister Gordon Brown Friday paid tribute to Michael Jackson, saying that the singer's death was 'very sad news' for his fans.
'This is very sad news for the millions of Michael Jackson fans in Britain and around the world,' Brown's spokesman said.
'The prime minister's thoughts are with Michael Jackson's family at this time.'
Jackson visited London earlier this year to announce his massive This Is It concert series which had been due to start in mid-July.

Complete and utter ****

Cant post what he wrote as it was a screen grab from his site which has been updated, the image is in the link.

Perez Hilton is in the news a lot at the moment I think he's not making him self to popular. Is he trying to end his career or just get hits on his site. I couldnt care less what he says but I think the elite Jackson fans will hate him now

RIP Jacko. His music was amazing.

Two things - who the **** is Perez Hilton; and secondly who gives a **** about his opinions?

Surely statistically by album sales and the like he out ranks everyone else?

Well, theres a difference between high selling and entertainer. The Backstreet Boys are in the top 10 for highest selling album, but I wouldnt say they were great entertainers. Likewise Andrew Lloyd Webber, hugely successful writer, massive music sales, but I wouldnt call him an entertainer.

Certainly though the Thriller record will never be beaten as they dont include digital methods in many album sales records, and increasingly fewer and fewer people are buying the physical items.

Like I say, its a subjective sentence. I consider Jackson to be a great entertainer, but not the greatest. In fact for me Jackson would be the 3rd greatest entertainer behind Mercury and Jean Michel-Jarre. Thats just for me personally of course, of all the people I have been to see, those 2 really stood out in terms of their entertainment value.

Its a very sad day for the music industry and all the fans.

I cant think of anyone who has not grown up and not liked just one of his songs.
I had tickets for his show in August and was looking forward to seeing a legend perform on stage.
I remember going to the Motown Cafe in Universal Studios in Orlando and all his past outfits and props being there, and they started playing the video Thriller on the large screen in there, and the place went wild !!!

RIP

Michael Jackson is a lot bigger than Elvis imo. Elvis's songs I don't think transfer well to the new generation. MJ's songs are timeless, I regularly put them on at the local Jukebox.

Tbh quite a few of Elvis's songs are fantastic, and would go down well with the new generation. Not as much as MJ though, but i think thats because more people have heard of him and his music.

I was under the impression that people who purchased tickets on ebay still get a refund, but apparently i am wrong! Must suck for people who have paid hundreds and some who have paid thousands!

Since i haven't added anything to this tread i would like to say R.I.P Michael, i hope you're looking down on everyone and can see how much we all loved and will miss you for many many years to come, however strange you're life might have been outside the recording studio and stage for reasons prehaps you will only know no-one can argue no matter how bitter and twisted how much this single person changed the face of music forever.

A true legend of pop was lost yesterday a sad time for everyone, i hope those band playing in glastonbury this weekend will honor the king of pop.

100% Agree, plus following his death album sales are starting to go through the roof (so it would seem).

What can Gordon Brown do about it? He was inevitably asked the question by a journo, at which point he has to say something nice. I'm no fan of Gord but in this case, he's damned if he does and he's damned if he doesn't.

Regardless of his troubled past few years, there is no denying that in his day he was the biggest and best entertainer on the planet. I was a huge fan of his in the 80's. RIP Mr Jackson, at least now you will be left alone.
