Rest In Peace Michael Jackson (No Disrespect Posts)

I agree with a lot of people on here...RIP and all that..I was never a great fan of his work but I can see and appreciate what he has done in the past..A true Icon and Legend. He was maybe the last great music legend/icon, along with freddie mercury,Elvis, Sinatra..cant think of anyone else left who has or will reach the status of these guys..

Rest in peace Mr Jackson, you shall be missed.. brought many moments of teary laughter watching Bo-Selectas take on the chap.. a Legend :)

Despite all the media bashing, the weird stuff, the stuff with children the guy was a prodigy! His music will be ever lasting. It is indeed a sad day for music to loose of its great people. RIP

To be honest, I really hope they dont steer clear of it. IMO its a terrible day when we have to be so cautious and worried that we feel we cannot do or say something.

This.

Though just because you can dosetn mean you should. Gentle mocking fun is fine, but not outright offensiveness.

I heard MJ was in loads of debt? Is this true? I thought he was like a multi- millionaire?

As the Perez Hilton thing shows though, people like to take offense, especially when there's a mighty bandwagon behind them.
I don't personally find anything wrong with what he wrote... Typical Int4rw3bz though...

THIS IS A DISGRACE, I LOVE MICHAEL JACKSON, KILL PEREZ, BAN HIM FROM TWITTER!! etc. etc.

Indeed.

I think it's terrible that people have to wait until someone dies until they show any compassion. It's quite moving watching some people's response to the news - although I'm a little skeptical about people saying they broke down crying and such; maybe I just don't quite understand it.

It's a great shame and tragedy, don't get me wrong - but I would imagine that some people would tend to be emotionally mature enough to deal with the news; to some it must be on par with losing a close relative or loved one I guess. I don't quite why everyone seems to be so distraught unless they're caught up in the social ambience or have built MJ up in their mind to be something he was not.

Out of everything, I've felt most sorry about how people reacted and treated him in his later life - South Park helped point out the issue too. I do wonder if those same people will be singing a different song now that he's dead.

I don't think humour should be avoided - it's one of the greatest things in life and just because someone cracks a joke does not mean that they're disrespecting the man or what he has done. No one can argue with his achievements - he was/is an icon; something which far too many aspire to and will never obtain, and the irony here is that when it was all said and done; he didn't want any of it. He wanted to just be normal. I really hope the lesson isn't lost on people and gets through to those who need to hear it most.

What exactly did perez do wrong....

All I see is he posted a blog early saying MJ was in hospital. I read this last night shortly after he posted it.

I heard MJ was in loads of debt? Is this true? I thought he was like a multi- millionaire?

It's possible to be both. I.e. MJ LTD. makes a massive loss but MJ's personal fortune is retained as he's paid himself dividends that MJ LTD.'s creditors can't touch. Not sure that was the case here though.

Two things - who the **** is Perez Hilton; and secondly who gives a **** about his opinions?

I dont know who he is, only that hes been on radio one a lot recently and he some sort of celebrity internet blogger. I was just replying to someone elses post.

Secondly you cut down my quote for some reason!!

Perez Hilton is in the news a lot at the moment I think he's not making him self to popular. Is he trying to end his career or just get hits on his site. I couldnt care less what he says but I think the elite Jackson fans will hate him now

RIP Jacko. His music was amazing.

I clearly stated I couldnt care less and the people that would be upset by what he said are the elite jacko fans.
