There is a way to connect the DC modem (or serial maybe) to a modem on a broadband connected PC, I did it way back (Windows 98 y0) for Phantasy Star. Needs some software magic which escapes me now

There is also an easy SD card mod, which we can't talk about here

Just purchased a Dreamcast, 4 controllers, 4 VMU's, 2 Jump packs and 12 games for the princely sum of £25.

Need to get a vga or scart connection for my television though. Does anyone have any recommendations/ebay links.

I can't believe how much the Sega Mega Drives are going for on ebay there was one I saw that was £174 boxed. Just wow.

Really?! Someone on here was giving one away because it didn't work so I decided to take it off his hands (He didn't even want anything for postage) and after re-flowing the solder on the video output it works fine. It's the model one too. If it's sealed then fair enough but that seems excessive for just boxed.

What's the point of getting RGB cables for the old consoles if you're going to play them stretched on widescreen tvs at 16:9 resolution :confused:

4:3! I gamed with my Megadrive on a 20" monster Sony, sat about 3ft from the screen cross legged on the floor. Ahh simpler times

Yep, I have it on my Mastersystem but the PC Engine port called Dragon's Curse is better for obvious graphical reasons.

Sure, stretched doesn't look great, but have you seen an old console connected via RF lately?

Picture quality is diabolical, so RGB is pretty much essential. Even composite looks horrific compared to RGB.

I just try to use a Scart cable wherever possible

That seems to make a good amount of difference and if your using an old TV its not exactly 1080P so you wont notice a massive amount I guess

Yeah...i'm saying use an RGB cable but also set the tv to display at 4:3 aspect. Best of both worlds

RGB + 4:3 + 60hz = best

. Don't see the point in going out and buying old consoles to play at 50hz. Console or software has to have a 60hz mode or it's nstc copy for me.

Had a go at the 50/60hz switch on my megadrive today unfortunatly got the switch too hot soldering so its stuck in 60hz mode (bugger) will have to get a new switch now. Typical too just got virtua racing through the post and it won't play in 60hz mode.

I'm going to be heading into Manchester on Monday and i've been told there is a retro gaming shop in 'Aflecks Palace' so i'm thinking of paying a visit to it.

Has anyone here ever been there? If so how did you find it? Was there a good selection of games/systems? Was every thing reasonably priced?
