Retro console and games thread

Wavebirds are rarer these days still working and as mentioned, 1st party titles have more value.

If you did decide to sell em on, i am sure us lot could help you lol

I have a wavebird lying around getting no use lol.

Just put my pre-order in for the Streets of Rage 2 OST from Data Discs. Well chuffed. Looks like another quality set. Went for the LE smoked with blood splats vinyl.

Finally completed my R Type collection for the consoles I own.

Master System version was the first one I played and I got that this week.

Also picked this up as part of a bundle.

R-Type on the Mastersystem was one of my fave games as a kid, really need to get a copy back in my life (want to get a mint complete copy of it one day, even if i have to pay a bit more for it).

Space at bottom right for the gamecube when i see my mate!

Nice little corner you have set up. I really need to get around to getting some decent furniture so i can set up all my stuff so that it actually gets used more instead of just being stuck in a cupboard.

Was just going to use the glass unit temporarily but it actually works well enough for me! Got an argos display rack on the way now to put the games on. The start of a possibly pricy hobby collecting stuff!

Tv only has 2 scarts so may need to look into a multi scart block thingy

What TVs are those and how are they with retro games?

The CRT TV in the corner is a 21" Bang & Olufsen MX 4000

Great for retro games, 2 SCART sockets and an S Video socket.

The LCD is a cheap Samsung 32" I use for PS3, Wii and Xbox One. The game on the LCD is R Type Dimensions on PS3 so it runs a 720p anyway. I wouldn't use it for anything other than current and last generation consoles.

I'd maybe go as far as playing GameCube games on it via the Wii because that's connected via component and does 480p. Many PS2 games support wide screen and wouldn't be too bad. Also Gran Turismo 4 supported 1080i.

But in general from PS2 and GameCube back I play on CRT TV.

Certain games have gone up in price lately like the first party stuff zelda etc

Thanks, just did a quick check and it seems I have the following games in addition to the Wavebirds.

Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem
F-Zero GX (us)
Gauntlet Dark Legacy
Legend of Zelda : Wind Waker (Limited Edition)
Luigi's Mansion
Mario Golf : Toadstool Tour
Mario Kart : Double Dash
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2 Echos
Phantasy Star Online: Episodes I & II
Pikmin
Resident Evil

Some absolute gems in there

Unless you 100% sure you don't want them I wouldn't sell em. Cost you A LOT to find / buy them again in current market
