Return to Monkey Island

I think Monkey Island II was the reason I bought a second floppy disk drive for my Amiga.

You still had to hope it had the disc in that it would actually need when moving between areas though.
it's many many years since i played the originals - i can't even remember much about the games!! but i do remember the disc juggling fun (not fun!)

MI 2 remains my favourite game of all time; it evokes so many childhood memories. I never imagined we'd see a proper conclusion. Roll on Saturday when I plan to start it.

I remember going to visit my cousin when he got a PC, he told me he had Monkey Island 2.
Being an Amiga owner, I asked him where his disks were?
I was blown away when he just fired it up in MS-DOS!

That was the day I learned about hard drives.

I have to say I'm really enjoying this. I haven't found it all that difficult so far but I'm... further along now (I won't spoil anything for those who haven't played it yet) and the difficulty is ramping up a little. Just what I was after really as I didn't want to breeze through it.

In a day and age when a lot of games get slaughtered in the reviews especially attempts to remake or resurrect old games this is getting surprisingly good reviews.

did you see the multiple endings?

I didn't but just googled it and found the drowning one lol, its one of those where there probably wasn't an ending everyone would enjoy but I never liked the original 'it was all fake' ending of #2, let alone revisiting it essentially. But despite that did enjoy the game, huge nostalgia with puzzles that I instinctively knew how to react to lol

Going to play through the casual mode at the weekend I think, see how it compares to the other more classic MI one :)

lots of people seem to be making the mistake of thinking the amusement park bit is the ending, but its just Guybrush playing with his kid, the real endings are the bench with Elaine and Boybrush after he found the secret (or not depending on what you pick), so it wasn't "all fake"

Just started it the other night, massive fan of the series.

It's decent, think I'm at the end of Part III on hard mode and not really finding it taxing at all. I dunno if it's because I'm now an adult and experienced with point and click or if it's just easier?

Still not sold on the art style myself, but the feeling of the first 2 is there which is the most important bit.
