anyway, it would have stepped in with the limiter. whichever type it has.

Must have some kind of limiter to stop a downshift over-rev :confused:

They never did that though tbh, it almost certainly would have blown the engine if they did.

A lot of french car dials will spin right up and back again when the battery is reconnected - or if there is a bad earth (eg testing clutch without replacing all earth straps) - probably this that got it stuck there tbh.

How would you stop an over rev with a limiter on down shift. If your doing 70mph in 5th the slam it into first its going to over rev isn't it?
