My mate is in HMP Moorland, I'm goin to see him tomorrow. I'll ask him about this. In a letter he sent me a week ago he said that there's loads of violence in Moorland because there are a lot of lifers, it's just a shame that the police aren't more geared up to the hostility in prisons to see fights like these happen, rather than acting once he had been stabbed. Although, wadda **** do I know...
 
Pluck their eyes out then put them in a cage to fight to the death.

If one kills the other, leave the victor in the cage to die of starvation even after promising him his eyes back and parole.
 
I'm still in favour of my idea regarding the island. Basically we drop them onto the island and give each of them AK47's and let them decide who should be king.

Been watching too many Ray Liotta movies?

I think they should treat such people with medical attention that only makes sure they don't die. They should forgo anaesthetics etc.

As for the death penalty, I don't agree with it, I don't really understand how most people do.

Maybe they should stop locking people up for petty crimes and leave prison to those who are a danger to the public.

I don't understand locking up people who dodge tax for example, alright, it's illegal, but still prison isn't an appropriate "punishment" for such a crime.

Which is a good reason why the public aren't in direct control of punishments.

Laws should never be influenced by emotion or religion.

People who don't agree with you do not automatically become morons. If they did, then by your logic you are a moron, given your disagreement with everyone else.

Because you never know, we might have caught the wrong guys. After all we need to try and rehabilitate them and perhaps by the time they are out of prison they will be reformed members ready to contribute to our society. Rehabilitation seems to be working so far. Their imprisonment has seemed to act as a deterrence to themselves too!

It's all nice in theory..

People who dodge tax are effectively stealing from other taxpayers. Just because it's done through paperwork doesn't mean it's bening. Similar to software piracy, just because there is nothing material to be stolen doesn't make it anything else bar theft.

How would you propose we treat people who dodge taxes, or otherwise steal from you or others (without threatening your life and always assuming you cannot retrieve the stolen goods anymore)?
