ridiculous

I've noticed it too, find it rather irritating. I mean people don't say redicule.

Though, the below, is completely me.

If it were just an individual's spelling mistake why do I see it everywhere, especially on this forum.

Are they teaching a different spelling in school or is it some internetz thing or am I just nuts.

See, this is an even stranger one. You can understand a spelling mistake but when some idiot types "brought" instead of "bought" it doesn't make sense at all, when you read it back it has a completely different meaning which is so obvious it jumps out from the monitor, knocks you off your chair and slaps you hard in the face.

So why do people insist on typing "brought"?. You wouldn't say that IRL whilst speaking would you, so why type it?. It's nutz. :confused:

I see more people who use 'there' when they mean 'their'.

I think it's just down to the way people try to spell (e.g phonetically). Winds me up!
 
I feel i am guilty of this, i assume its because i pronounce it as RE-diculous and not RID-iculous.

Ive seen the light however and hopefully shall never sin again!
 
The ones I keep spotting at the moment are effect/affect and advise/advice. Although these are a bit tougher, must have been at least 5 when I learnt this.
