I have listened. Out of all the games you listed Star Trek Bridge Crew would be the only one that is somewhat interesting enough to make me to want to buy a VR headset. It is not a killer app though, not even close in my opinion. VR needs a killer app just like how Zelda breath of the wild was for the Switch. Not seen anything of such quality where everyone is gushing and giving it 10 out 10 in the VR world. You just haven't been listening. I listed out a whole lot of games. Have you even tried RoboRecall or Elite Dangerous in VR? If you haven't then I suggest you try them and then come back here and say there are no unmissable VR games.
And also what about the Buzz surrounding Star Trek Bridge crew? And, Echo Arena is generating huge interesting.
£399 isn't expensive for what you are getting.
You are in no rush but, you are letting great gaming experiences pass you by. There won't be any new generation headsets until 2019, and if you think wireless headsets with improved displays are going to be cheaper than £399 you will be disappointed. You do realise that neither HTC or Oculus are making money on headsets?
Yeah, not interested WoW or any MMO's either. Feels like a waste of time to me, no end game, just grind, yet people lap it up.Different tastes, i thought WoW was awful and never even tried any of the witchers...not my type of games.

I will eat my hat if there is not a new wireless headset out at the latest in 2018
Melmec clearly really enjoys VR a lot and is struggling to understand why others do not feel as passionate about it.
I will wait for next gen VR headsets to come out, I personally feel those will be a much better overall VR experience and by then more games will be out to make owning one worth it. No rush, those experiences will still be there next year.
Fair enough mate. That is great for people who purchase one at this discounted price and I hope many do so the install base grows and we get bigger budget VR games. But I personally will be waiting as I want somethjng with higher resolution and no hopefully no screen door effect that is wireless.Have you actually tried VR? A proper try, not just 5 a minute demo? I get the feeling you haven't and you are just basing everything on what you are reading. There are people gushing about Star Trek, Echo Arena, Elite Dangerous. When you were looking for gushing reviews, did you somehow miss all the rave reviews that Robo Recall got?
Headsets should have wireless capability before the end of the year, or should do, as there are various companies making wireless adapters for the current gen headsets. But at a cost. Both Oculus and HTC have said there wouldn't be any next gen headsets out before 2019. Actually they said 3 years at the earliest.
Of course I am. It puts you in the game. What gamer doesn't want that? It's just a great time to get into VR. The price is fantastic, there are some huge games coming down the line. And if you don't like it, you will probably be able to sell it for as much as you bought it for when the sale ends in 6 weeks and the price goes back up.

Also as I said imo no killer app just yet, so happy to wait.
£299 would definitely help a lot in my opinion. Maybe for christmas time.
My guess is as time goes by the current unit will get cheaper and hit that price point. The quality of the unit will be the same, just people will be getting it 2+ years after release, kind of like how consoles drop in price.Ah, it's all good man
I doubt good quality headsets will ever reach £299. Unless maybe when they are selling off olds ones when the next gen arrives. I would love if they were that cheap, but, part of me is wondering would I want to buy something made for that cheap? The Rift is amazing quality, really well constructed with great build quality. The touch controllers are solid!!!
By that logic you should have ordered one on release dayLife's too short, ordered mine , save a bit later on maybe or be rocking vr tomorrow..easy choice

Haha. Fair enough. EnjoyBig difference between release cost and now, even I have my limits
£299 is a price my brother and his casual gamer friends would seriously consider. Again why i am shocked my enthusiast gaming friends are still ignoring it at £399 :s

And the XBox One wireless controller and wireless receiver for the PC too.
I suspect a lot of people on the fence would buy if they could test it, theres 1 place within 40miles of me that has one to test 1 day a week.
AhI bought mine from OCUK 2 days ago.
