Rift £200 off

You just haven't been listening. I listed out a whole lot of games. Have you even tried RoboRecall or Elite Dangerous in VR? If you haven't then I suggest you try them and then come back here and say there are no unmissable VR games.

And also what about the Buzz surrounding Star Trek Bridge crew? And, Echo Arena is generating huge interesting.

£399 isn't expensive for what you are getting.

You are in no rush but, you are letting great gaming experiences pass you by. There won't be any new generation headsets until 2019, and if you think wireless headsets with improved displays are going to be cheaper than £399 you will be disappointed. You do realise that neither HTC or Oculus are making money on headsets?
I have listened. Out of all the games you listed Star Trek Bridge Crew would be the only one that is somewhat interesting enough to make me to want to buy a VR headset. It is not a killer app though, not even close in my opinion. VR needs a killer app just like how Zelda breath of the wild was for the Switch. Not seen anything of such quality where everyone is gushing and giving it 10 out 10 in the VR world.

I will eat my hat if there is not a new wireless headset out at the latest in 2018.

Different tastes, i thought WoW was awful and never even tried any of the witchers...not my type of games.
Yeah, not interested WoW or any MMO's either. Feels like a waste of time to me, no end game, just grind, yet people lap it up.

Melmec clearly really enjoys VR a lot and is struggling to understand why others do not feel as passionate about it.

I will wait for next gen VR headsets to come out, I personally feel those will be a much better overall VR experience and by then more games will be out to make owning one worth it. No rush, those experiences will still be there next year.

Have you actually tried VR? A proper try, not just 5 a minute demo? I get the feeling you haven't and you are just basing everything on what you are reading. There are people gushing about Star Trek, Echo Arena, Elite Dangerous. When you were looking for gushing reviews, did you somehow miss all the rave reviews that Robo Recall got?

Headsets should have wireless capability before the end of the year, or should do, as there are various companies making wireless adapters for the current gen headsets. But at a cost. Both Oculus and HTC have said there wouldn't be any next gen headsets out before 2019. Actually they said 3 years at the earliest.

Of course I am. It puts you in the game. What gamer doesn't want that? It's just a great time to get into VR. The price is fantastic, there are some huge games coming down the line. And if you don't like it, you will probably be able to sell it for as much as you bought it for when the sale ends in 6 weeks and the price goes back up.

Fair enough mate. That is great for people who purchase one at this discounted price and I hope many do so the install base grows and we get bigger budget VR games. But I personally will be waiting as I want somethjng with higher resolution and no hopefully no screen door effect that is wireless.

Also as I said imo no killer app just yet, so happy to wait.

I'm hoping this gives VR the push it needs. Oculus said they would concentrate on bringing the price down this year. This is better than i expected :)
I feel a little frustrated because of circumstance. I have had the headset a year and the touch since launch. Non of my gaming friends have it yet. VR brings multiplayer to the next level... Even though i have the setup, i feel i am missing half the fun... Come on people, jump onboard!

Why i am a little frustrated is that it is really hard to convey the step up in immersion of your first multi hour gaming vr session. Even at 399, for a setup i feel was worth it at £880 (600 headset, 200 touch 79 3rd sensor) my friends are reluctant to jump in. Yet £600+ gpu upgrade for what amounts to gaming at 45fps to 90fps, 32gb fast ddr4 for gaming only machine etc.. is worth it.

Granted, it doesn't have a game the size of a witcher, gta etc... However, this is not traditional 2d gaming. My best gaming moments of the last many years have all come in the last year with VR.
I guess i won't be playing any of the current VR games in 5yrs like i still do with Diablo 3. I still play many hours of D3 but it can't touch any of the gaming moments i have had in the shorter VR games. Thankfully, there is already a nice list of must have vr games that keep me occupied.
If they would come try it out, im convinced some of them will buy it. But i feel understandably, they are using traditional 2d gaming as the benchmark. This is a different experience. Yes the games are shorter, and if they were longer like gta v etc it would be amazing. But, already this year i have had far more fun with vr gaming than 2d.

For people who like to be in the high end gaming bracket eg i7, gtx1080+ what is £399 for a golden time for gaming experiences!!! But i still can't convince them :D

Someone mentioned £299. I tend to agree with this. More people take the "gamble". Then when people realise how awesome it is (especially as it'll be more likely to have a friend to share the experience with), they will be more willing to pay more in the future.
£299 is a price my brother and his casual gamer friends would seriously consider. Again why i am shocked my enthusiast gaming friends are still ignoring it at £399 :s

Ah, it's all good man :)

£299 would definitely help a lot in my opinion. Maybe for christmas time.

I doubt good quality headsets will ever reach £299. Unless maybe when they are selling off olds ones when the next gen arrives. I would love if they were that cheap, but, part of me is wondering would I want to buy something made for that cheap? The Rift is amazing quality, really well constructed with great build quality. The touch controllers are solid!!!

My guess is as time goes by the current unit will get cheaper and hit that price point. The quality of the unit will be the same, just people will be getting it 2+ years after release, kind of like how consoles drop in price.

They may even keep the current model on sale at the lower price and introduce the new one at a higher price and have them both available on the market like a PS4 and PS4 Pro :)

I get the continuous "your hardware isnt good message" cos i'm using a gtx780 but so far the only thing with any judder had been the art program "quill", Robo Recall was fine and a lot of fun.

Me too, I just can't understand how people who love gaming and who are interested in VR wouldn't jump on this deal? It's a win/win situation.

Life's too short, ordered mine , save a bit later on maybe or be rocking vr tomorrow..easy choice

Don't forget it's an even easier choice when you count the free games and apps. Welcome to VR :)
