Hmm as epic as that looks, Biffa, I notice your anti-kink coils are missing from a few points that in mine at least are most likely to kink - the joint with the compression fittings :p
Although it doesn't look like it's a problem, because there's enough spare tubing in the case. But it might be worth bearing in mind :)

Which one gemini? The joints where? Its not kinking at the mo, in fact only put the antikinks on as habit more than because it was kinking :) Truly was a throw together what I had, the only thing I had to buy was the pump because the old one I had rattled like grannys teeth

Like I say, it's not causing a problem, i.e. kinking - it's just [if you had no anti-kink coil on the entire tube] that if the cable were pulled tight for whatever reason, the part of the tube that would kink would be the bit without the anti-kink coil on, which seems silly :)

Must be nice to be able to make an entire loop without spending a penny :p

Edit: looking closer it looks like your radiator is bolted onto the rear of the case, I didn't notice that. Making the chances of the cable being pulled tight roughly equal to nil. :o

If its the X58 Deluxe, watch the Asrock, I sent RMA'ed 4 back and got the P6T in the end because they died on me whilst overclocking.

May as well post up my new rig. Done a couple of small units and working my way through a bigadv as I type this. Not going to continue after as I cannot have another electric bill like the last.

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2

Intel X25-M 80gb SSD
Crucial CT64M225 64GB SSD
Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB
Samsung F1 1TB
Zotac GTX 285 with a Thermalright HR-03 GTX rev.A with a Fractal 120mm fan
Corsair HX620 PSU
LG GGC-H20L BD/HD/DVD drive
Fractal Designs R2 case (black) with 3x 120mm and 1x 140mm fractal fans

I think I am being wreckless with the CPU though. Completed 2 small units at 4.0 with 1.35v and temps pushing 88 degrees, but fell over 2 hours into a P6702. Backed it down to 3.9 and notched the CPU up to 1.36v and it's completed the first day of a bigadv temps at 86, is this too much?

Neat build, as to temps, its hot but not over 90 where it starts to throttle. I've had good luck with increasing QPI from anything between 1.325 and 1.375 which then let me lower vcore on the cpu. YMMV however as its down to chip batch/revision etc.

Thanks for the heads up. QPI-VTT is at 1.355 so I can raise that to 1.375 and try the vcore down at 1.35 to help lower temps. Perhaps I could change the CPU fan to a pair of Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 in push-pull configuration, would that help much?

Here's my latest upgrade:

New improved photos rig.
Rampage.jpg

Water chiller.
Chiller.jpg

System spec:
Case - Akasa Eclipse 62 (had this for 5 years and still love it).
MB - Asus Rampage II Extreme
CPU - i7 950
RAM - OCZ Obsidian 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600Mhz Triple Channel Kit
GFX - Powercolor HD 4890

Cooling:
Chiller - D-D DC750
Pump - Swiftech Laing D5 Vario MCP655
CPU block - Heatkiller 3.0 LT
Res - XSPC single bay res
Tubing - 1/2" black XSPC
Fittings - EK Polished Nickel Plated Brass G1/4" (BSPP) Thread to 1/2" Hose Tail

CPU running at 4.4GHz. Thought I had it stable at 4.5GHz - ran Prime blend for several hours without issue but within 20 minutes of starting the SMP Folding client, it crashed - reinforcing my assertion that Folding is a much better OC testing tool than Prime :p

Had to use quite high voltages to achieve 4.4GHz (1.475 Vcore/1.425 QPI) but the water chiller keeps temps well within accpetable levels. Water temperature set to 13C which keeps the load temps around the 60C mark. It's currently munching its way through a bigadv WU with HFM estimating a little over 40k ppd :D

Sadly, I managed to bork my GTX295 when I fitted the waterblock :( I was very careful and wasn't aware of doing any damage but, when I went to boot up, I got the beep code for faulty graphics I've stuck in a 4890 to tide me over for now. Not sure what I'm going to do regarding graphics - I'll probably bung a 460 or two (or three) in there eventually - or I may take the GTX295 out of the gaming rig and put it in there and put some 460s in the gaming rig. That's a bit off in the future so I have plenty of time to think about it.

I'll try putting the stock cooler back on the non functional 295 and try it in the spare rig I'll be putting together when the RAM arrives - fingers crossed. That'll be another i7 rig made out of the old UD3R board and i7 920 that was in this rig originally. I've ordered some RAM for it and the rest of it (PSU, HDD etc.) will come from the old Q6600 rig from the bedroom.

Personally I find those fans too noisy. I'd go for the Akasa Apaches

Nice, so no radiators just a big ole fridge under the desk? :)

That's pretty much it. Don't have to worry about the ambient temperature, the water temperature in my loop is pretty much constant at whatever I set it to.

To be honest, I didn't gain much from it, it's one of those "Ican so I will" things. I probably could have got 4.2GHz with a standard set up (i.e. with a radiator). The chiller cost me £350 so I've basically paid £300 for an extra 200MHz

Where I may well notice a benefit will be if/when I introduce multiple power hungry GPUs into the loop.

The noise can be a bit of a nuisance as well. The chiller kicks in for about a minute every 5 minutes which is inconvenient in its current position. When I move house in Novemeber, it'll be in a better position so it won't be an issue.
