It seems some serious shidazzle is going down at Apple, some sources say tomorrow (Monday), but on the whole I think it's going to happen in the first 2 weeks of September.

Tis ghey, only just placed an order for a 2GHz MacBook on friday morning and it's due to be delivered sometime next week-ish. The delivery waiting time is 7 days for a 1GB 80GB HDD Macbook, unusually long... :confused:

Wonder if before shipping, and if price remains the same, I could change it for a Merom version... that's if these rumours comes true and on time. See, conroe was announced over a month ago but till now, still no big retailers selling Conroe Desktops...

BTW Today is the official Merom launch day so the NDA isn't in effect anymore. I'd expect an Apple announcment imminently for the MacBook Pro and iMac.

Apple usually refund any changes in price within 7 days of delivery. A mate of mine pre-ordered a 17" MBP and got a £100 refund after the price dropped.

Just hold for a couple of weeks if you can! 5th September is rumoured to be an announcement day but the week after that is the Paris expo which could also have something new announced...

Do people think the core 2 minis will be the same price as the current core duo configurations?

I was planning on getting the core duo with 1gb ram for £600 and I don't really want to spend anymore.

I reckon, and this is just me thinking out loud, that the Mini may see a revision to just a faster speed Core Duo. The Core Solo will probably disappear to be replaced by the current Core Duo model.

I think the Core 2 Duo chips will be saved for the Macbook Pro and maybe the Macbook. Although the Macbook may only get a speed bump, too until January when the Merom chips are in better supply.
