The Police in Sweden cannot intervene, they are there to protect the Fire Brigade and gather evidence. Once it quietens down then there will be, I presume, prosecutions. Forces have been called in from other parts of Sweden to help now too.

Also to make people aware Techno Viking is not involved.
 
I think the blame for these Swedish riots can firmly land on Thatcher, and her legacy of social inequality.

The recent london riots were very little to do with poverty.

I am always quite split on events like this in Sweden. What do you expect if you have a large influx of migrants that don't integrate with the natives. More to the point, why is it the job of the country and people to accomodate them.
 
Where are the Swedish immigrants from?
They are outside the EU and thus not subject to the freedom to travel and work rulings are they not?
Are these immigrants from outside the EU?
On what basis did they arrive into the country?

Really? How many of them had an of less than 75p or £1.50 a day?

Have you been to Africa and seen actual poverty? Yes our 'poor' may have less money than others, but they are not starving, they are not going without medical treatment. I have seen actual poverty in Africa... There is no comparison.

I wasn't in any way excusing the behaviour just saying why rioting in the UK usually happens, that's all. If you want a debate on relative vs actual poverty then you probably need to find someone else. :D

show me one riot where it happened because people were poor? i've seen protests from students etc but riots? neh

When my dad was a child, He could spot the children from the poor families because they had no shoes! (Even in the winter!)

(I am absolutely not kidding!)

And My Dads family were not that well off either (Though he never wanted for shoes). They still mostly used gaslight! (They had electricity in the kitchen and living room only) #

At the risk of going a bit "Four Yorkshireman"

People nowadays really do have no idea! :(


(# To be fair, as long as electricitys only use was for lighting most people in the 20's/30's didn't bother to spend the money to replace existing gaslight. Gaslight with a mantle is just as good as electric light. It was the growth in popularity of Radio that ultimately drove urban domestic electrification!)
