sorry to hear that
when our cat died last year id spent my whole life around it ( we where both 20 ! ) , was much more upsetting than i thought it would be
I know how you feel. Our first two cats died when I was around 18 (they were about 16-17). I felt really guilty that I cried more at their passing than when my grandma passed away a couple of years later.
Cats are so awesome but it's terrible to lose one under any circumstances. If they go quick it's a sudden shock, but equally it's not nice to see one decline in its later years.
