Today my 2 year old boy thought it would be fun to use a toy hammer to bash my TV. Im not a happy bunny at the moment but at least its covered by my insurance :(

When I was a kid I pushed our TV off the stand on to it's face and totalled it. My children currently son't seem to want to smash our tv up so much anymore. They just draw on it with crayon, which fortunately wipes off..

Mate of mine lost his 37" CRT (when CRT's were all the rage) to his 3 year old... The littleun was watching Thomas the Tank engine... and Thomas had run out of water so he was Thirsty!!.. So one Cup full of Orange Juice Later and his TV was bye bye!!!...

My Mate also found a Jam Butty shoved into the VCR because Barney (the Dinosaur) was Hungry one day!!!...

I dunno how his boy survived this long!! (he's 12 now!!)...

I laughed at both of those stories:).

Unlucky on the TV to the OP though. Thats gotta hurt!:(

Electric trip wires are the cure to your problems, or maybe the pill  :D

Great stories though guys

hehe im laughing now but my nipper is 15months now and ive already had to move PC onto the desk to stop her constant restarts....and she has just got her first crayons i knew my years of graf would come back to haunt me :)

About ten years ago my mate accidentilly spilled a full pint of stella into the grill in the back of my 28" bush tv. Sparks came out of the back of the tv followed by black smoke. i jumped out of my chair and pulled the plug out of the socket.

After around a week of not watching tv i thought i will just plug the tv in and see what happens - it worked! and still works to this day as it is in my mums living room.

Kids hey,

A customer of ours had a set of missions 5.1 speakers for 2 days before his sone cut out the cones.

If it had been my son hed be adopted by now:p

Haha similar story with me, except it was a 2litre bottle of coke and a ps2.
the whole bottle spilled onto my ps2, smoke, sparks the works.

a few weeks later turn it back on, and it works. (only problem was the cd drive wouldnt open so had to use a knife each time to open it)

My living room smelled like a brewery for a couple weeks when the tv was on

Mmmmm, stella :D

Why don't you buy screen protectors or wall mount? I remember even having protectors for the vhs player (so you couldn't put stuff in it or record) when I was a few years old. I wouldn't leave expensive electrical goods unprotected with children/animals in the house. Worrying to think that 3 year old could have been electrocuted by pouring in that orange juice!

Well my insurance claim has been accepted so i will be ordering a new TV next week.

Seriously thinking of wall mounting it but i have a few issues with this. First, theres noly 2 walls it coulds really be mounted on, one is above the fireplace, and the other above the radiator. Would the heat from them cause an issue with the TV? Also, have a freeview recorder and a DVD recorder hooked up to it so id still need the TV unit under it to hold these and im thinking it would look a bit ugly

Sounds like a good excuse for a projector then. ;)
