RIP my poor TV

Well my insurance claim has been accepted so i will be ordering a new TV next week.

Seriously thinking of wall mounting it but i have a few issues with this. First, theres noly 2 walls it coulds really be mounted on, one is above the fireplace, and the other above the radiator. Would the heat from them cause an issue with the TV? Also, have a freeview recorder and a DVD recorder hooked up to it so id still need the TV unit under it to hold these and im thinking it would look a bit ugly

I decided to rip out my fire place and i built a small unit to fit into the hole in the chimney were the fire was. I then wall mounted a Panasonic 50PX70 above the unit on the chimney breast. It looks spot on, i have no cables showing (i am a spark by trade so i installed a four gang extension lead inside the T.V. unit) so it looks really neat and tidy. This is hooked up to a PS3, Xbox360, cable box and my P.C. via HDMI. I can't tell you how pleased i was when it was all finished, we never use the fire as i installed central heating a couple of years ago.

this is why i waited till my little lad was 4 before getting a flatscreen TV. He now knows its "daddy's TV" and "not to touch"

:D

Unlucky mate, at least you will end up witha shiny new one.
Around 4 years ago we got a samsung tv, big box thing, 32" and weighed a ton. Convinced my dad it didn't need screwing to the base, as soon as we let go it toppled forward and we never actually got to see it working. Ended up an insurance job :(

I pushed in the small cones on the woofers of my parent's B&O HiFi when I was a child. They weren't too happy, but I don't believe it has made any appreciable difference to the sound quality, as they still sound ace.
