Pulled from a vote contest on MSN, interesting to see at the top is taxes... Gordon Brown, its all your fault... ;):D

Actually, all joking have to say, the list is pretty much most of the charges I consider to be a bit of a rip off..

Extended Warranties are certainly up there as I can't understand how when I purchased a £20 kettle they attempted to sell me a warranty for it... oh how I laughed...

everyone will think everything is a rip off if its not free. Its just the way life is, market demand and all that.

Would be better to see how much they have gone up/down over x years vs cost of living etc.

Also how much of your hard erned cash hasnt been stolen by taxes at the end of buying somthign is intresting to see.

Why do you consider it to be a 'rip off'? Do you think that Mr. Brown is just taking your money and stuffing it into his pockets?

Or do you confuse feeling 'ripped off' with just resenting having to pay money to support a welfare state?

*points, laughs and pees a little*

LOL G Dub is better then the faggot that is gordon brown. At least our own government doesn't do everything it can to rip off it's own citizens then take it up the rear from people who then try to blow up England. Oh BURN.

Indeed i dont think we have any ground to stand on when it comes to critisizeing (sp?) other places. Need to get here sorted out 1st!

Sorry,

But where is the most important (food / groceries / drink etc)

I returned from a weeks holiday in Ibiza 2 weeks ago, and shopped in the local hypermarket (5 mins from our Villa)

We were getting at least twice as much food / drink for the same price as we pay back in Britain. 6 Heineken bottles - £3.20. 1 litre bottle San Miquel 75p. Milk - 55p Bread - 60p..........Even the meat/veg was miles cheaper & this on an small Spanish Island that has to import nearly everything.

One thing I don't understand is that, if say an item is $299 in the US then why is it £299 when released over here? I mean, surely it should be around the £170 mark rather than a straight over conversion from Dollar to Pound.

There's a hell of a lot more wrong with the USA than there is with Britain. Just sayin'. We don't like Brown either. We didn't even vote for the guy. I know you didn't vote for yours either. So let's just call it a draw and leave it at that, eh?

I found on my recently holiday to southern Spain that prices are rising similarly there, have they not got higher inflation than us? Booze will always be cheaper while they pay less tax on it than us...
