RIP Paul Walker

I can't believe someone took a video of the car on fire, just after it had crashed and I don't even think police etc. had been called when he was just sat filming it instead of trying to help.

While my instinct wouldn't have been to whip out a camera and sit there looking at the scene before doing anything - the front of the car had burnt out by the point he starts filming and the rear is well ablaze which would have made it incredibly difficult to get close to the car due to the heat.

Yeah it's not respectful in any regard but in the same breath, there isn't much you can do without putting your own life in danger. The car was ablaze. It's such a waste of life though, and maybe an eye opener to the younger generation who are a fan of the series. You don't get second chances in real life!

From what I've seen of him outside of the franchise he wasn't all that into cars. Not that he had to be, just struck me as strange at first. Also his work for charity...I wasn't aware of that till yesterday. RIP!

I used to think Paul Walker was yet another beachboy pretty boy boy band wannabee stereotype...

Then I saw Running Scared. Which i loved to bits. Then I watched all 6 Fast Furious films, in sequence, and liked most of them a lot.

So this really hit me. He was actually a great guy and entertaining actor, and his absence will be felt.

And seriously people, go watch Running Scared if you haven't already.

To be honest they started in that sort of vein but they have progressed into becoming something of a guilty pleasure, very entertaining to watch and they appeal to the whole family.

The later ones are less about the cars, in all fairness.

I personally love 5 and 6 out of the whole lot.

+1

While it was unlikely that he could have helped, it still surprises me how he just slowly gets out of the car and then walks back away.

If it was me, I would be straight over to the car to see if there was any hope of saving them.

Not just casually strolling down the other side of the road with your flip HD out

It clearly had a major impact with two objects, it was doing some speed no matter what the speculation was, it was engulfed, the car was in half, its still not a reason to start taking video's though, his friends and family obviously had no problems approaching to try and help having to be restrained so I don't see why no one else would try and help.

I would do all that I could to assist if I was faced with the situation of coming face to face with someone after an incident as I would like to think if it was me in the car, people would do the same.

I'm sure the authorities had been called let's be honest, you've just made up the whole part of them not being called havnt you?

Looking at the crash it would have been pretty obvious they hadn't survived considering it was just a heap of metal cut in two and intensely on fire.

I was flamed for pointing out the obvious on another forum. No disrespect to the deceased but the car was clearly travelling at some speed in a built up area.

i put my hands up and say i probably he scared ****less trying to go near a burning car as i be scared it may explode or something and thats me done.

i certainly wouldnt film the ****ing thing or go on fb/twitter/instagram etc. thats bloody stupid mate.

Well, it's proven there's lots of stupid people in the world. The News channels only incite it. In their eyes, who cares if it offends or upsets anyone, we got it, our ratings are up and it'll sell a hell of a lot of newspapers.

considering that walker himself is an experience race driver, i highly doubt this would happen if he was on the wheel.

RIP, i thought it was a load of ****** when it got announced on my FB feed
What?

Have you ever been in that situation before?
If not then there's no way you can know that's what you would have done.
People react in strange ways when faced with that sort of situation never mind how much they would sit and say with 100% certainty that they would be in there helping.

Either way RIP.

Haven't attended a vehicle fire, but I have witnessed/helped at a few crashes. One of which, a lady rolled her car with her young son in the back, and the car came to a standstill upside down. One of the other people who stopped to help was going to break the window with his elbow to get them out. I stepped in and used my handy window breaker/seat-belt cutter tool to cut them out.

But yes, I understand where you are coming from. I was shaking from head to toe with adrenaline, fumbling around in my car to find the window breaker.
