RIP Paul Walker

A videos now out regarding the crash, some of the guys said they were trying to put out the flames, and they couldnt see the driver but could see paul, and they said he was unconscious/dead which i suppose is a relief he never suffered.

Could you send me a link through trust. I may just be being stupid but I cant find the video unless your talking about the original video thats all over the news with the car on fire?

In reply to someone saying "you don't need to be going fast in one of those cars to total it"

That is true for a lot of cars. You don't need to be going fast to write a car off. Crumple zones, air bags etc etc. I mean yer sure 30-40 mph into a lamp post/tree will total your car in most cases.

However;

Even if you count in that the the car was on fire so the destruction looks worse than it would have been without the fire.

Even if you count in the fact its a rear engined car and the engine is designed to disintegrate instead of coming through to the front and killing the occupants.

Even if you count in modern building techniques to absorb shock (crumple zones)

and all the other stuff I have no clue about, that is not a "low speed" crash. That is a 70 mph+ crash easily. I mean it caught fire straight away, I'm sure the carbon fiber probably had a roll to play in this (splinters and can rupture fuel lines/etc) still I mean the level of destruction is not just a "low speed crash".

As I said earlier, it a damn shame. I'm thankful no one else was hurt but its a damn shame.

Heh

Theres some images somewhere of a VW or Audi that hit a fairly small tree at 90+ mph - the tree has some minor grazing on the bark and a small dent the car is in 20 pieces with bits found 100m away :S

Not to mention why on earth would Obama want to assassinate him.

the audi your referring too was a audi RS6

If you remember Gladiator, Oliver Reed died during filming and the filmmakers just patched in some cut scenes in order to finish the movie. I'm sure FF7 could follow the same path. They may need to change the story and have him die or something, but they'll find a way to make money from his death.

RIP - speed is a harsh mistress.

Lots of PW love here for the FF films, you guys should watch Running Scared or The Lazerus Project, he wasn't a bad actor at all. Will be missed.

It only took the scum on FB, using his death to start like-mining. Seemingly reporting to FB does nothing.

Later in the day all the wannabe "cruisers" (scene is dead these days) trying to organise meets "in memory". The kids trying to organise them were still in nappies when the cruise scene, which inspired the original movie was in it's prime.

RIP both drivers.

I enjoyed the early films and whilst any lose of life is sad I find it rather arrogant that they were driving on the roads the way they were, with no respect to themselves or others. What concerns me is that if the stars themselves can't detach from the films they portray in then what hope do young people watching these have. Given their status and following, they are (were) poor ambassadors really.

I feel for the families and I'm glad that no one innocent was taken with them.

The driver wasn't a film star. He was a Porsche GT3 racing driver amongst other things.

Everyone drives a bit fast now and then, I guess a CGT gets fast rather quickly though!

Jeeze, the amount of people just stood at the crash site pointing a camera directly in Tyrese Gibson's face as he is clearly breaking down is ridiculous

All to get their footage to put on youtube

RIP Paul Walker and Roger Rodas. Very sad, seemed like one of the most down to earth actors. F+F films will not be the same now he is gone.

shame yet another example of YouTube culture where capturing a ****ing video is more important than trying to help someone who may have still been alive.

To be fair I don't think there was a great deal to be done there. Would've been risking more lives going near it.

I didnt watch the video, just seeing the promo pic for it pretty much says that its not a pleasant one and yes its pretty disgusting that it was filmed.

I see a lot of people saying that the Porsche model in particular is notorious for being difficult to control especially the clutch - With this in mind have Porsche said anything about this, given that there were clear safety concerns before about the way it drove.

Dunno what they were going to do with FF7 but given that its in Tokyo - Would this not be a good time to reintroduce Sean into the team to replace him....Instead of effectively rewriting the entire script given that they have already started filming.
