RIP Paul Walker

Rodas, 38, and Walker, 40, co-owned an auto racing team named after Rodas' shop, Always Evolving. Rodas was a financial adviser as well as a professional driver who competed in 10 Pirelli World Challenge GTS races in 2013, his first year on the circuit. He finished second in rookie of the year standings, circuit spokesman Dave Drimmie said.

Something doesn't make sense somewhere if the above is true.. if he was a professional driver, how could such a thing happen or am i being daft? it has to be a mechanical failure somewhere?

I thought the same thing...but heard the mechanical fault could have been due to that Car having known issues, but surely two guys who loved cars so much would have known that and not risk driving as fast (as speed was mentioned as a factor) as they did in that area?

Maybe they'd been drinking or coked up, thing is the truth will never see the light of day with the car being bent up and smashed into a thousand pieces and driver and passenger being the well done side of crispy.

I understand crashes can happen to the most experienced drivers.. but something somewhere definately isnt right

I'm no accident expert but doesn't like damage was done from the front? Maybe because the engine is at the back or something

Also what's all this about they were in a race, I'm guessing that's just ********, daily mail or whoever making up a story

The cars **** thats why.
Pretty much every experienced person that has ever driven has said as much - terrible to drive, unruly, lacking control, mind of its own etc all spring to mind.

I can see a world of hurt coming Porsches way eventually over this.

Just seen the CCTV footage released. Doesn't really explain a lot. Just a quick flash and an explosion, followed by a second larger explosion. I don't think anyone could argue the car was travelling at an alarming speed, but there are no other cars present so lays rest to the rumours that they were involved in a street race. I'd also say that considering the layout and the fact it was a common spot for speeding, that the car probably did suffer from a mechanical failure for him to lose control so spectacularly.

Unfortunately it appears the media can't tell the difference between a Professional racing driver and an Amateur racing driver, Rodas was an amateur in the purist form.

Im not dising the guy here, but he only raced part time for fun as a hobby paying for his seat out of his own pocket, it wasn't his profession.

They seem to think now that it was a power steering failure. He might not have been up there on the talent scale, but it's a clear stretch of empty road, yet he managed to veer off into a tree. No skid marks leading up to the accident. Fluid was found a few yards up the road. Doesn't excuse the speeding, but still.

Somebody had to throw this in

It's one of those where who knows what really happened, I'm open to conspiracy theories but you can't just scream illuminati at everything. It's definitely strange though the amount of celebs that die from car crashes, drugs etc there's no doubt there's a dark side often involved
