RIP Paul Walker

Nonsense. I doubt Porsches responsibility lies anywhere other than perhaps a small part in a risky design. These guys lived for tuning and had their own garage/shop thing so it's quite possible this car hadn't seen the inside of a Porsche garage for a while - possibly.

Either way that explosion suggests a pretty damn high speed which is most likely the biggest factor in their death. RIP

Maybe so, but people do not buy that kind of vehicle to obey the speed limits.

So Porsche sold that car, fully knowing that its occupants would no doubt be putting their foot down.. The least they could do, is ensure that their car was reliable enough so that the steering wouldn't malfunction and smack its occupants head on into a tree. Or worse still into another incoming car.

They'll be held liable, I reckon.

lolwut?

Ill believe it when there is evidence. You have to remember they were doing doughnuts in the road, so sudden changes in direction with lots of power isn't surprising.

I agree with them driving perhaps too fast on that road...the thought that if the impact didnt kill him instantly, the minute before the explosion he could have been alive-trapped trying to escape, just horrible.

I think Paul would have been dead on impact, his side of the car was completely caved in from the lamp post and tree.

Driver possibly burned to death.

for all those loling at thedocs post remember this is America the land where it's entirely possible to sue because you burnt yourself on the hot drink you've just bought because it was hot.

Thought of it is horrible. Just read a worker couldn't drive the car onto a ramp or something to be stored away...its then they took over and went for a drive.

If you're referring to the Woman who got burnt at McDonalds, then you really need to google and find those pictures. They're truly horrendous.

That's all well and good but what do you expect when you drop something containing almost boiling liquid in your lap.
If I bought a 25kg weight plate and dropped it on my toes breaking a few I wouldn't try and sue the manufacturer because it was too heavy, I'd mark it down to being a boob and remember to be more careful.

call me insensitive...but we get 13 pages for a movie star

meanwhile Edward J Heffron died yesterday aged 90 and barely registers anywhere

You cant compare someone that died of natural causes no matter what they did in the past to someone that died at the age of 40 in a horrific accident.

Just read up on it, she was completely retarded in what she did to get herself burnt and didn't deserve a penny.

Could be BS, but damn he seems like he was such an awesome dude.

Paul Walker was best known for his action-packed films, but many are remembering the late actor, who died on Saturday in a fiery car crash, as a big softie with a huge heart.

During the holiday season several years ago, the "Fast & Furious" actor walked into Bailey Banks and Biddle Jewelers in Santa Barbara, California, and, according to sales associate Irene King, what happened next was practically out of a feel-good Hollywood movie.

King told CBS Los Angeles that an associate nudged her and said, “There’s Paul Walker.”

“Oh, OK, yeah,” King replied with a smile. “I said, ‘Yeah, he’s a nice-looking man.’”

Walker was browsing for bling at the same time as a soldier who had just finished his first tour of duty in Iraq, and was looking at engagement rings with his fiancée.

Paul Walker was just a genuine guy. (Splash News)
According to King, the pair saw a ring set they liked, but it was way too expensive and boasted a hefty $10,000 price tag.

In comes Walker. The blue-eyed actor called the store's manager and told him to put the ring that the couple was looking at "on his tab," but to keep his identity hidden. He promptly walked out of the store. According to King, the store never told the couple that Walker was the man behind the purchase, and nobody ever knew the sweet story until now.

King posted the story on the 40-year-old actor's Facebook page, among thousands of other anecdotes where people remembered him as "generous," "loving," and with a "heart of pure gold." Walker was a dedicated supporter of charities like the Billfish Foundation, and could always be counted on to raise funds for those in need. He founded his own organization, Reach Out Worldwide, after the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

"To do something like that to a perfect stranger is just unbelievable,” King said.

In this case, it appears that Paul Walker's generosity shined brighter than any diamond.

If that's true which it probably is, what a top bloke.

Good karma obviously malfunctioned in his case as there are probably less people than you can count on one hand that would do a thing like that for a total stranger.

The Los Angeles coroner's office released the results of the autopsies conducted for Paul Walker and Roger Rodas Wednesday, finding that Walker died from the "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries," while Rodas dies of multiple traumatic injuries.
Both deaths have been ruled an accident, while a toxicology report is still pending on both cases and is expected to be completed in six to eight weeks.

So care to explain why Porsche paid out 4.5mil to the last person that binned a carrera GT and killed himself? and he wasn't even famous.

They're going to be taken to the cleaners, if the evidence points towards mechanical failure.

lolwut that !

If that's true that's an awesome thing to do. I'd love to be in a position to do that, if I had the the money. Something I'd certainly do, if I was.

Good Christmas film I tend to watch each year with Paul Walker in is Noel, check it out :)
