RIP Spotify

You want full access to millions of songs, streamed and downloaded, without adverts, skip limits or any other restrictions, and you want to pay nothing for it....?

Yeah, it's amazing really. £10 is nothing considering the service Spotify (and other providers offer).

You can get 6 or 12 months Spotify subscription with some Vodafone contracts. I have a 12 month sim only and get Spotify free for 12 months :D

I've been trying the Google option and notice as a subscriber you get 10% off play store purchases.

If you're a Prime customer on Amazon you also get their music although yet to try their catalogue myself.

I'm a Google Play Music Unlimited subscriber and generally enjoy the service although I'm probably guilty of not using it as much as I should be. Having my own music library backed up online and in the same place is a big draw.

I also have Prime membership (more for the delivery and video streaming). The music library is no where near as extensive music library as Play Music, Apple Music or Spotify although it is a very good value add for the money.

I get spotify included with my contract, but I would pay the tenner a month purely for the discover playlist it produces each week. I don't know what algorithm it uses compared to last.fm or anyone else, but it is unbelievably good. Every week, I get 5-10 songs I genuinely love, always from new bands. It has totally changed music for me.

With what company?

Probably Vodafone? I have it for 12 months included with my contract.

As Hxc says, Spotify is good for suggesting new music you may be interested in. My sim only contract ran out after 12 months along with Spotify. I have been giving Play Music a go by using their free trial. Both are good, but for discovering new (to me) music Spotify wins. I may cancel the play music subscription at the end of the period and as now got a 12 months with Spotify again it's a no brainer.

Yep, vodafone. One of the reasons I keep renewing with them as paying for it seperately would make my overall costs more expensive.

Won't solve the limited skips and shuffle only restrictions though.

I am amazed Spotify Free in Spotify web player with adblock appears to... block ads.

I don't care about new music suggestions (I know what I like) and I can't say I've ever used the shuffle function.

I've got it through Vodafone having never shown an interest in it before, now I'd happily pay for it. Voda have a deal currently on a 12 month SIMO with unlimited texts, minutes, 20GB data and 12 months spotify premium/netflix for £20

Vodafone is a very expensive way to pay for spotify, for the simple reason you can't family/friends share

I made the mistake of going with vodafone before they launched the service (thanks apple). Not so worried, I'm going to cancel when my 12 months is up, although I do get good coverage.

Well i went with Vodafone because they have the best service where I live and work. Spotify is a nice extra. I have paid for Spotify in the past and still prefer it for streaming music. Family and friends are well capable of paying for their own subscription :D

I've been bouncing around between Google Music, Spotify and Apple Music for the last few months and I think Google is the best. The ability to upload my own tracks to pad out a playlist is awesome.
You're not going to do any better than a tenner a month for anything worth having.
