RIP Stan Lee

RIP to a real superhero. He gave the world so much and the characters will live on forever.

What a legend. Thank you for all the amazing stories.

RIP Stan.

Still think his best cameo is in a DC film lol. Teen Titans Go has the best cameo of his.

Hahahahaha, that cameo had me howling.

Always remember him best from the opening narration in the Incredible Hulk cartoon. Such a driving voice, as a child listening to that introduction, it just screamed exciting adventure coming up!!

The guys an absolute legend. His name will carry through generations to come.

Dear Stan

Just wanted to say you will be sorely missed. The last 20+ years I have been reading comics was due to you. It shaped my sense of Justice and social responsibility.

See you on the flip side.

RIP
SNIKT!!

For some reason I thought he created Superman
Probably one of the few first tier superheros he didn't have any involvement with ;)
I always tended to enjoy Lee's hero's more than most of the DC ones because they tended to have a bit more meat to the character, the flaws that meant they weren't invincible and could act in morally grey areas or even at times become "bad guys" for a while (and even his bad guys often had their good sides and a background).

I was never a huge comic book fan, but always enjoyed the x-men etc when I read them*, but Stan Lee was always one of the names I remembered and enjoyed reading his work, I remember my Brother-in-law watching Mallrats with us and getting excited at Stan Lee's appearance in that.
He was also always one of those guys that seemed to have a lot of time for his fans, and understanding of exactly why people liked his characters and the knack of creating characters you could identify with (mutants being the outcasts/racism analogies, or the kids that were different at school, whilst looking back Rogue could be seen as the youngster with some diseases that could be transmitted through touch/intimate contact).

I suddenly want to pull out some of my old comics and read them again, I don't have time for that.

*Going back to the 90's, I collected the Image type comics (gen 13, spawn, Crimson, Battlechasers), my Brother collected X-men etc and my BIL collected vast numbers, so I got to read a lot.

I hope to god he has one hell of a send off, got to be one of the most popular people on the planet.
Always had a feeling he wouldn't be long, what with his I'll health.
Still good innings what with all the trouble he's had of late.

Yeah, the other one is David Attenborough, that when BBC Nature programmes will never be as good again. It won't be the same without his narration.

I know they could cgi his cameos for future films but it won't be the same.....although he's been suffering from ill health recently, I'm genuinely sad he's gone. His enthusiasm will be missed, but he's left behind such an impressive legacy of art that he won't be forgotten.

apparently he done a bulk recording of cameos so he should appear in the next 6-8 marvel films.

I was shocked to read that he only had a £50m fortune at the time of his death, all those billions of dollars that the franchise has made and all his cut comes to is £50m. I mean, I say all..its still 50m of course but compared to the billions the franchise has made I was still pretty shocked.

I guess he didn't own the intellectual property, Marvel Comics/Marvel Movies did. I did read somewhere that he was paid a million dollars a year by Marvel "for being Stan Lee".
