Dont take life so seriously, Steve never did (which is why he was such a great guy) - its a fitting tribute.

If you were his wife, How do you think you would feel if someone sent you a picture of that?

If you think you would be fine about it feel free to post it.
If you think you would be upset and anoyed by it then dont post it.

Its your choise :)

Has anyone got any info on these stingers in specific? Im amazed, they dont look at all lethal, nor do they look strong, they look weak and widdly things (well thats from a distance).

True but the heart is only muscle/tissue. A quick jab through the ribs into it is lethal. Really unlucky tbh. :(

The barb is actually located at the body end of the tail, not at the thin tip like you would think.

The barbs are up to 20cm long and are razor sharp, and when you're stabbed in the heart with that it's not good.

A sad day for many. I will never forget some of Steve's prime moments, battling with the crocs, getting bitten by a shark. Toying with a spitting cobra with his rucksack getting coated with venom. Steve knew how to live life and his passion should be an inspiration to us all. Even the name of the boat he travels on brings a smile to my face 'Croc One'. He was one of the best people on television and promoted wildlife to all.

Steve, you will never be forgotten.

The Barb on a Sting ray can Cut through bone.
Its known for people to have bones cut in there foot when they step on one and i would suspect the one that got him would be much bigger then the ones people step on

they're kinda like big needles, pointy like, I've seen a ray while diving before now, and it's stinger (tail) looked pretty dangerous tbh.

I only watched him on the TV yesterday! I couldn't quite believe it when I heard it this morning. My thoughts go to his child / children and his wife. :(

a great shame, sadly missed and example to me especially with all his enthusiasm. He died doing something he loved which i hope i will. There are not many people who can say they they do a job they truely love. :)

RIP :(

R.I.P Steve Irwin.

I thought he was a brave fellow, and he seemed like a good bloke too, highly entertaining and chock full of aussy niceness.

:( Sad day.
