RIP Steve Irwin

Shocked in one way that he's died, but in another way i'm not. The things he's done over the years with dangerous animals has been amazing, and he's had some close calls. He made watching wildlfe progrmas interesting again, always had loads of energy the way he used to chase about after stuff, you couldn't help but watch and be amazed.

He was a legend, RIP. :(

When I heard this news two contradictory things pass my mind.

1) how? the man is obviously immortal.

2) i'm surpised this hasn't happened sooner.

whatever you think about this man, he was one brave, enthusiastic guy. i don't think i've ever seen anyone on tv quite as passionate about caring for wildlife, and getting 'hands on' with what we class as predators.

i think it's a shame. rip steve you crazy dude.

Lets hope Steve's kids carry on from where he left off :)

Only yesterday I was watching Crocodile Hunter on ITV :(

RIP

Very Sad, he was loved by people all over the World. Man had guts. He did so much for Wildlife conservation. Feel for his wife and kids.

A real Legend will be missed, RIP :(

This is where I disagree with all the people who've posted "I'm surprised it wasn't sooner".
Steve Irwin knew his job inside out and knew with 99.99% confidence how a certain animal would react because they are coded and he preached this time and time again. When he came across animals he didn't know he would get the advise from those that did. The most deadliest snake in the world kissed him and he knew if he encountered a 1000 of those snakes they would all act the same (hopefully).
Lets not forget that his programs were very highly edited and his main man and best mate Wes wouldn't let him do anything without going over the health and safety first.

This is one bloke I will truly miss and he was my number one in this thread -
