Was thinking about this the other day...

For whatever reason, you have been chosen as the man to do the solo flight to Mars.

Therefore it will be you who will be stepping out onto Martian soil. No matter where you tread, no human before you has stepped before.

You would be away from civilisation for about a year, upon arriving there everyone crowds round their tv sets watching for you to take your first steps.

Then it hits you, what do you say as you step upon the martian planet?

These words, like 'That's one small step for man...' will be immortalised forever more. Surely you will want to be remembered for saying something inteligent

Part of me wants to say something like
'With determination, there is nothing we cannot achieve' or something

But that seems to lack ingenuity

What would YOU say?

"This ******** suit itches."

Or

"Gaaaaah I have been trapped inside that bleedin can for 7 months now, need a stretch.... Ahhhh who needs a ****?" [/izzard]

I claim this planet in the name of Angelina Jolie's lips!

I would hit it!

what do you mean that's the moon?

What am i doing here then ?

I'd sell my soul and get someone to sponsor my first words.

"May this accomplishment herald a new dawn of enlightenment for humankind. Eat at Joes"

To self: Small step for man, giant leap for mankind...small step for man, giant leap for mankind... *ahem*

I'm a small man with a giant... no, wait...

I guess i should say something prefound..........nothing comes to mind lets go home.
