i've been sent an RMA e-mail form the company i got my laptop from. it contains an attachment which i'm supposed to fill in and send back. unfortunetly, after i've downloaded the file i cant open it. if i double click on the file a box comes up which says ' to open this file windows needs to know what file created it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically or you can select from a list manually.'

so if i search the internet for the file it tells me that its an Excel Spreadsheet file (xls). So what do i do now?? have i got to buy some software just so i can open an e-mail????

maybe i'm being really stupid but software is really not my bag. any help would be great thanks!

That sucks.

I wouldn't know what to do apart from ask them to send me a simple doc/txt.

yep and 26389/1024 = 25.77

I know ??? the point is, on windows its 12.3kb, on the web it grows to 25 ???
I just reduced it to 14kb on windows and uploaded it and it still shows as 25kb on the ftp uploaded version ???

edit Just deleted the old version and re uploaded a 9kb version, so all is good again, you can go back to your mundane lives, all is right with the world again, thanks :)
