So I have here 4 x 512MB sticks of 667Mhz Crucial Ballistix, a friend gave them to me but they're all faulty - very strange.
Thanks to Crucial's awesome RMA service on their site, I've been able to send in an RMA request despite having no proof of purchase.
What do you guys think I'm likely to get back as a replacement? Do they still have DDR2 memory to send as replacements, or will they send me DDR3, or might I get a credit or something?
Just looking to see if anyone else has done anything similar recently.
Cheers.

They will have DDR2 - and they will send you out 4 x 512Mb sticks unless you've stated that your system can accomodate larger sticks. The only thing that might change is the timings and frequency - and these would be upgrades (higher spec) if they didn't have the exact same 667MHz sticks.

If they couldn't offer you DDR2 replacements (for whatever reason) then they would have to offer you cash for the going rate - which would be great if you were considering upgrading as DDR2 memory costs more than DDR3.

OK, well that's fine. Either way it doesn't make much difference, I don't have a DDR2 system so I'm only going to sell on the replacements regardless of what I get to be honest.
I might add to the RMA notes that I'd be happy to take larger sticks then and see if they send me 2x1GB of 1x2GB instead, might be a bit easier to sell on than 4 512MB sticks.
Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

They're giving me a 2GB stick of 1066Mhz DDR2 as a replacement. They said I could have 800MHz/1066Mhz, or wait 2 weeks for a 2GB stick of DDR2 Ballistix.
Great service, impressed at their fast response.
