any ideas how long it takes for a replacment board to appear  from overclockers? should I be thinking about buying a stand in m/b till mine returns? or are they normally pretty quick....
Im getting withdrawal symptoms !!!

thats more like what I was expecting/hoping for.
2 months + ....eek my board will be 4 gens out of date by the time I get it back...

Have you called Overclockers to chase up the RMA?
I thought they had to turn the RMA around in 28 days? That is generally held to be the reasonable time scale for a customer to be without their product while it is repaired?
I'm not sure what they deem as a reasonable amount of time, the best people to contact are ConsumerLine.

I think a majority of motherboard manufacturers have a really quick turnaround, I know Gigabyte & Abit are very good i.e. usually within 5 working days.

2 months for an RMA is unacceptable in my opinion whether it's Asus or any other company, so if you dont get a positive answer from OcUK give that above number a call, they will give you professional advice in terms of your rights within Consumer Law & the Sales of Goods Act.

Well my Blitz took 8 weeks - They even have an RMA service centre in the UK. It only needed a bios flash as it was the same board recieved back. I guess they were having a busy time when I sent mine back.

I sent an Asus back to overclockers last week, all they did was send it on to Asus. I phoned to ask how long to get it back and he said maybe 4 weeks. They don't seem to appreciate being without your pc for 4 weeks is a big problem.

Consumerline
{'We'll have to send it back to the manufacturer'. This is not true. If you've bought faulty goods, it's up to the trader to deal with the problem. He/she can sort it out with the manufacturer later.}

That's precisely the line i got, even though the mobo was under 6 months old.

Just don't be fobbed off, it is for OcUK to sort out, not for them to send it to Asus and you then wait.

Is 8 weeks a reasonable amout of time? I'm sure Trading Standards will be able to tell you.

Enter your postcode in the box & your local Trading Standards Contact details will be displayed.

Let us know what they have to say in terms what is a reasonable amount of time & your rights as a customer.

I think Asus are seriously in the wrong here, something needs to be done about them taking this amount of time it's disgusting.

I've just been advised that under 12 months my contract was with overclockers, and 14-28 days is a reasonable time for them to sort it.

i sent a rampage board back on tuesday, got new board back friday same week.
now thats quick service, keep it up overclockers.:)

:) hmmmm ok just to be clear, this is not a bash OCUK thread

its a genuine question as I've never had to RMA a motherboard before and wondered what to expect. Seems like this is maybe a sensitive subject?

Incidentally I've another asus(striker extreme) board which has just rolled over and died in another machine too

His other motherboard is a Maximus Formula SE - see his sig for RMA.

Well in your case it's only been a week so will just have to wait.

As for the original poster he needs to speak to OcUK & let them know that with it being over 28 days its unacceptable & needs it sorting ASAP.

If he doesnt get it sorted after that then Trading Standards can become involved as you will be within your rights to take it further against Asus most likely.

How long did you have the original motherboard? I think if it's within 28 days of purchase they will simply replace the goods, someone else maybe able to verify that as it could be 7 days.

I had a faulty Asus as well as a faulty Abit motherboard which they simply replaced within a few days of me returning them as they were Dead on arrival.

the Maximus formula was bought mid feb and was fine until mid May at which point it stopped posting at all.
received by returns on 20th May......

It's ASUS rather than OcUK that's the delay though. I RMA'd my J&W IP35-Pro on Saturday morning, and I got an e-mail yesterday morning telling me that it had been received, and then this morning another one saying that it was to be replaced, and a new one would be sent out immediately, stock availability permitting. Don't buy ASUS seems the take-home message here I think.
