Hi there,

I am RMA'ing a hard drive and i am just about to send my invoice from OCuk off so they can verify my drive...

Is there anything i should photoshop off the invoice.....i'd rather take as much off as possible but i dont know what needs to be left on?

Thanks.,..

Hi there,

What sort of packaging would i need....? I have the plastic case that came with the oem drive....?

Is that sufficient?

Thanks...

hard drives usually come in a foam lined box - did you get one of those?
if not, as long as it has some kind of shock absorbing material around it (foam, bubble wrap, polystyrene chips - as long as its also in an antistatic bag)

Nope didn't get one of those, just a plastic form that goes around the hard drive?

MOST IMPORTANT!

Then, recommend using a box as opposed to an envelope (even jiffy bag). You can get a box slightly bigger than it then crampling up some old newspaper and putting it round. Don't forget above it and below it apart from the sides :D

Hi there,

I have been sent a replacement.

How do i go about properly setting up the drive.

Do I format then partition or can i straight partition?

Thanks...

basically, assuming you are already in windows, plug in the disc, right click my computer and select manage, then go to disc management.
your disc should be listed there - right click it and select initialise if necessary, or partition if its not - select the size of partition (you might want 1,2 or even 3 depending on your tastes) and follow the instructions and it will partiton and format the disc and your ready to go.

if you installing xp from scratch on the drive, the setup should do all these things for you.
