It sounds impressive but 100mph is actually pretty slow for a motor paced speed run.
The record is currently 166.9mph.

Update on my Canyon....

Canyon sent me an apologetic email this morning. They're going to send me a new bike ASAP and collect the current one. Also by way of an apology they're giving me a "free Sigma Computer BC 2209 MHR STS to say sorry" which is very good of them

Seems like it was a one off more than poor quality control and they've been very quick to rectify it.

Really glad I didn't order new tyres etc. last night and also I'm kind of glad they're replacing the whole bike as it (fingers crossed) will be perfect from the off. Hopefully it will be here sometime next week

Can anyone recommend a decent/cheapish bike maintenance stand with a clamp?

I used to have a homemade one that me and a mate put together a few years back with a decent clamp on it that could take a full suspension bike no problem, moved house and left it :/

I don't want to spend a fortune if I can help it.

Went on the slow group club run this morning. Highlighted one thing, I need some winter gloves, whats recommended! My hands froze until the sun came up.

Otherwise no problems, shorts, jersey and wind stopper gilet in 4c! Everyone else thought I was mad, they were all covered up with hats too.

Yeah I tend to get called mad for my usual gear, which is bib shorts, a short sleeved jersey and gloves if necessary. I roast if if I wear any more than that.

I've a pair of these for cold conditions, and wear liners for very cold.

i wear 2 pairs of gloves often, some gel padded mtb summer gloves and some cheap karrimor thermals over the top. used this combo last night for a 1.5hrs 25 miler in the windy conditions - i do have cold hands generally though
