I'd like some tyre advice from you knowledgeable folks. I'm on Schwalbe Luganos at the moment and find them to be perfectly okay but the tread at the rear is well worn now and needs replaced. I like that they are cheap, I've only ever had one puncture and find them reasonable comfortable, but don't feel they are all that great at cornering (or that could just be me) or in the wet. Without breaking the bank, say a fairly flexible £30 limit per tyre, what should I be looking at buying?

I'm tempted to go to Decathlon and buy a pair of cheap ones, how bad can it be?!

I reckon I will have time to go to Decathlon, Halfords, Leisure Lakes and Evans tonight. Probably come away with nothing!

i had the b'twin tyres on my triban 3 originally.. i think they are 6.99/each - i had the 23c version.

if i remember correctly i covered 1.8k miles on those with 1 puncture but i was 1cm cut that basically killed the tyre too! :)

for the price they are good if you have decathlon close to you.

these.. funny how they were 6.99 a couple of months back! vittorias are better for the price then! :)

I should have read the previous ten or so posts

I would use GP4000S for everything, ive only had 1 get cut out of 3 sets on different bikes, oh and 2 punctures. I guess it depends what roads you run on tho

Gave my ride a clean after a couple Strava days and a few damp rides, chain was filthy but came up brand new:D

Wow PBK suck.

Without any explanation as to where my Castelli Gabba went they refunded £135 of my £136 order. So I effectively paid £1 for a bag of dried apricots (which were meant to be free) and wasted time. Great service!

I will not be using them again.

Used to be good, but were bought in January by The Hut Group. Things have gone down hill since then.

Console yourself by trying to find it cheaper here: http://www.flubit.com/

Users on BR are reporting some decent success with it.

I'm not on the market for anything at the moment so I've not tried it.

They were taken over by 'The Hut' group not to long ago who are notorious for being completely useless. Saying that they have been alright for me so far.

BTW my LS Gabba Jersey is by far my most favourite piece of cycling clothing, definitely recommend. Really wan't the SS version too.

I've been trying to get hold of a black, size small, short sleeved Gabba but it's proving difficult. I just don't understand what happened. They sent out apricots and no jersey, but the jersey must have gone somewhere?!

Over the odds of most places but Castelli-Café have them:

Thanks, I might use it as a last resort. I've just ordered from another place at £135, but I'm sure they'll email me back saying it's an error and they don't really have any stock!

I'd actually like to get hold of the other waterproof jersey used by the pro peleton, however it's not available in the UK:

Now that I have an all weather commuter back on the road I want to spend my hard earned bonus on my road bike

It currently looks like this

It definitely needs new wheels as these are very old and heavy, and I'm pretty set on chinese carbon rims (38mm) to hope hubs, 20/24 built over here.

No I need to decide wether or not to upgrade my frameset or not, the Alan fits well but its old Alu (early 90s), its not the lightest, its very harsh and the power transfer for how harsh it is, isn't great.

But my budget is tight, £500-600, so Canyon Ultimate AL, Steel Bob Jackson with a carbon fork, or chinese carbon are my options after some research, which hasn't narrowed it down at all, as it still leaves steel alu and carbon!
