Anyone using a Cateye V3.. Bit late to ask as it's already sat on my desk but would like to hear your thoughts. :D

No, but I'm using a Cateye Micro. Excellent bit of kit. Can be a bit diddly to get used to with button combinations for certain functions but then most computers are the same in that respect. Being the Micro version it's got quite a small readout.

I was out at 5 this morning for a couple hours, came home after my bike decided that it didn't want to stay in gear. It was quite nice having the road to myself. I didn't see another cyclist until about 6:30 :)

Looking to buy a road bike of some form myself in the not too distant future, probably looking at a budget of ~£600-700 ish, not really sure what to go for.

Wanted because my Trek Remedy 8 just isnt up to the task of long distance cycling I can do 10+ miles no problem but any hill climbs just kill me because of the suspension.

So any recommendations ?

The sun has relented Hallelujah.. No more sunbathing for me. Time to get changed into my gay gear and get up the hill :D

Going out for a ride in a minute. I wish I could get up at 5am like you Saundie...
It wasn't the best ride I've ever had; while the weather was good and the roads quiet, my bike was being a pain and my legs were giving out. I should really have breakfast before I go out in future. I'm sure when you're out touring you'll be keen to get up at the crack of dawn every day :D

Just ordered myself one of these, a Met Inferno UltraLite helmet:

Never thought I'd order an expensive helmet, let alone be excited by one! :p

Gave my bike a good clean today, and then repumped the tyres. Noticed my inner tube was starting to bulge out of my rear tyre's sidewall, so took the opportunity to replace both tyres with some Michelin Krylion Carbon tyres which were an absolute nightmare to fit onto my wheels! Got them on eventually, and I can't wait to give them a spin tomorrow :)

I was out running past Midnight the other day. Amazing isn't it, when no one else is about :).

Apologies if it's been posted before, but this looks like an interesting bit of kit- cardboard helmet, passes (and vastly exceeds) all the safety tests, and a bespoke model for your exact head shape is about £80 (including measurement- replacements are cheaper)

Looks like a damn good idea to me.

Fortunately their helmets are better than their web design!

Niiice. I wonder if mrk got paid for modeling that.

Just noticed Russinating's valve placement does not adhere to the 'line them up with the tyre branding' OCD rules. There's no way his trip can succeed :(.

got knocked off on my commute home last night :(

Was going just shy of 30mph and a woman came out a road on the left. Said she looked but "I was further away at the time", I explained that's how moving traffic worked. Amazingly even though I ended up sprawled across the tarmac I escaped with a very light graze on my left knee and that was it.

She did look but then seemed to wait until I was almost ontop of her and then pulled out, scrubbed off most my speed but slammed into her drivers door with my shoulder and bounced to the floor. I was in a good mood and as no real damage had been done to me (I never checked the car but that's her problem anyway) so I gave her a lesson in road saftey, brushed myself off and got on my way.
