Still not got the steerer chopped.

Lidl have got some deals on this week - workstand for £30, wireless computer for £7, saddlebag with crap multitool for a fiver, etc. I got the stand today and the computer and a bag. There's shorts and jackets as well, no idea how good they are but the bag and computer are fine, don't get the stand out til tomorrow because it's a birthday present!

I've got the stand and for £30 it's a bargain but don't expect Park Tool quality. Having said that a couple of easy little modifications make it very usable. Be careful when tightening the screw that holds the main clamp onto the tubing as it will screw straight through the plastic or do what I did and get a bigger bolt and a couple of washers to secure it more firmly.

Assuming they are the same as last year's the multitools as you say are indeed heavy and crap. I bought one and it fell apart after a few uses and about 100 little springs and clips flying everywhere rendered it unfixable and it's now in a few sections. The tools don't lock straight which isn't great if you want to give a decent amount of torque in a more awkward spot but then again my Lezyne tool doesn't either and it's probably worse in that regard. It's still useful for the toolbox though.

I wouldn't buy their clothes either. I bought the gloves last year and they only lasted one ride before the stitching came apart.

I can't give any opinion on the computer but PTW is in a better position to.

Remove those dust caps on the valves (pointless and look out of place) and cut the steering column down and it'll look perfect :D

Next purchase is going to be a decent set of summer wheels, are they tubs or clinchers?

Clinchers. Can't be bothered with tubs.

Nice Asprilla, but that steering column REALLY needs trimming

Yes it does. However, this is the only built bike I've got at the moment and since it's a carbon steerer I'm not doing it myself. I'll have to build up another frame before I can hand this one over to the LBS for a couple of days.

Why? It's good for donut storage while riding :D

:)

Not even sure why I left them on. Quick check in the garage this morning of my six sets of wheels and these are the only dust caps I've got.

....when the saddle bag is removed ;)

Oh, and the bar tape is White (or saddle black) :D

Saddle bag stays. Otherwise I'd be shifting stuff backwards and forwards between my bag and my jersey.

You can't really see it in the picture, but the saddle has a massive black stripe down the middle, so it works ok with the saddle. (Original carbon Antares was black with a white stripe so worked better, but my bum didn't get on with it).

The PX Nanolight is coming along a quite nicely. Just waiting on a new seatpost and front mech. Photo's to follow in the next week.

Cheers for the head-up. I popped in last night and picked up a couple of cycle computers and a cycling top.

Computers seem really good for the money, wireless sender looks identical to my old Raleigh one, computer is sensibly laid out, has all the basics, including pacing speed, temperature, calorie count (you enter age and weight), a useful light, setup for two bikes, and also a backup mode for retaining data between battery changes. The mount looks like it'll hold the computer over bumps unlike most cheapies, but I stuck a bit of gaffa in there for friction just in case (my last cheapie is in the bushes in Richmond park somewhere). Good bit of kit for £7 but the proof will be in the using.

I've had lots of use out of Lidl motorcycle stuff, especially their base layers, so I thought I'd try the cycling top. It's shoulderless so good for really hot weather, but I think I'll mainly use it for running as it's really comfortable and seems to have good wicking properties.

Before picture is 2 years old ish, from then loads of scratches, BB hub broken,
gearing messed up. To replace BB £50 bloody FSA rip off. So I thought sod it Bought a new chainset with BB for £50!. Also got a singlespeed kit.
48t-18t also got a 16t but I'll see how it is first with 18t. Might not be the best looking bike :p.

EDIT: ok found a immediate problem with the chain tensioner is that it doesn't wrap the rear cog enough causing it to slip during load. Not slipping out of cog though and no can't make the chain shorter if I do then I can't use the chain tensioner as of right now I can run it without the tensioner and there is a little slack but I'll probably have to buy a reverse tensioner something to push upwards.
