Very nice indeed.

I'm in talks with the guys at Bob Jackson about a new frame (adapted Audax club with a longer head tube) but I'm also going to send my sizing to Jason Burls for a custom Ti frame quote.

You've got wireless brakes, I take it? ;)

Seriously jealous of how nice that looks dude! Are you still set against joining me for a ride, so that I may see it in person? :P

Yeah, I'll be up for a ride soon. Can't do this weekend but Sunday morning next week?

Rode it up to the supermarket this morning, no brakes, and it rides nicely. It's a tiny frame but it's got a very low bottom bracket so it's not small to ride. The headset is now bedded in so I need to nip it up, then attach the brakes when I've found some nuts and got some cables.

Nice bike, well worth spending a bit of money on :)

Went for a ride this morning, having not bothered in two weeks (other than the commute, which doesn't count);

I was hoping to get out today too, but it's been ****ing down off and on all morning.
Do not want to get the bike wet! LOL

I rode the Great Shakespeare Sportive today and it was the toughest ride I've done to date.
97 miles and the three steepest climbs in the Midlands.

I finished in a very respectable time, amongst the first of the 100 milers back to base :)

Next Sunday - Tour of the Peaks, which is another difficulty step up.

Ta :)

Training
- 2 x gym 1 hour sessions including 30 mins on the bike
- At least 1 ride to work a week : 33 mile round trip
- Weekend : Either a 60-70 mile road ride or an MTB ride

I've been riding MTB's for 4 years but this is my first 8 months on the road.

:: EDIT ::
That moving average looks wrong to me, it should be based off 6 hrs 16 mins (not 4hrs 21) which is around 15.4mph.
I'm not sure where the 4hr 21mins came from :confused:

:: EDIT 2 ::
Looks like the GPS totally lost signal a few times near the end and when the device picked it back up again it has straight lined the route. Ignore moving average speed and time. Everything else is fine :)

Ive got my 1st Sportive next weekend and have just built my Planet X Nanolite.
I seriously need to get some miles in this week. Im thinking of 2 hours per evening and have Friday off.
What Can I expect from a sportive? is it ruthless racing or not? its a Wiggle 75mile ride through the Mendips / Cheddar.

Anyway - Finally built and am very happy how its turned out. Its light as a feather and cant wait till I get out on it.

Nice bike, of course, but what are they thinking with that awful 'PLANET X' logo? Looks like something from an 80s BMX :(.

Edit - I mean BMX.

I presume it's sprayed on also so you can't just remove the sticker or something?

It can be as hard as you want it to be. You'll find there are some people taking it very seriously, some people rolling around on mountainbikes, and everywhere in between.
Just ride at your own pace and after a while you'll naturally find yourself in a group of other people who also ride at the same pace.

If it's your first sportive then I'd just aim to complete it and ride at a pace where you feel comfortable. For most people a sportive is just a nice bike ride with lots of other people. For others, it's a time trial, but there aren't many of them.

Nanolights look amazing, I'd have loved one if the frame was not above my budget so I went with the SL Pro, nice frame, but I don't like the top tube going down.

Thanks for the postitive comments , Turned out better than I expected. Plus I do like the Planet X decals.
Im looking forward to riding it when I finish work at 4pm. Its alittle windy out though :(

Should get 2 hours on it atleast.

I've just signed up for the Tour of the Peaks on Sunday Aug 14th, 97 miles of some pretty hilly roads ;)
2000 metres of climbing with a category 2 climb 75 miles in :/

Anyone else here doing it?
Full details here : http://www.kilotogo.com/index.php?option=event_detail&event_id=26

I'm signed up but whether I can do 97 miles over that route I'm not too sure. I may end up doing the 64 miles depending on weather conditions.

I just did 50 miles in the peak district today and the wind was ridiculous. I can't imagine being able to get up Holme Moss after 75 miles with the kind of head wind there was today in the peaks.

Do you know what sort of time you are aiming for SDK?
