This might be of use to some people...

Code "Paypal20" at Wiggle on baskets over £100 raises the level of discount of each item to 20%. Worth using even if you have the 12% platinum discount.

Also, you need to pay using Paypal.

Needs nothing. Scrambles to buy something. Thanks :)

Oh thanks. You had to post that as I was looking at Dura Ace chainrings didn't you?

I posted that a little while ago and someone else pointed out it's actually +£250 when you add brakes making it the 'going' rate for a full group.

Ah you're right, the picture is somewhat misleading. Also, do Merlins not sell individual chainrings?

I had a good ride after work today, into a nasty headwind heading out. Had some good feeling in my legs on the climbs, couple of 2nd bests and a PR, didn't feel like it was hurting too much either so had a little left in the tank.

I got double team attacked by randy magpies too, two of them swooping and smashing into my head for a kilometer, swung at them a bit, pushed one of them away but the other kept coming. A lady in a car even slowed down to ask if I was OK. Be a few months until mating season is over, might have to avoid that route unless someone else is with me or its dark.

Coming back downhill I gave it all in top, doing about 65kmh to get past the maggies, missed one of them, but the other still managed to slam into me twice!

Sure I read something that said if you had a couple of eyes on the back of the helmet they don't do it as they think you are looking at them? Worth a try

Yeah, i'd posted that suggestion in here before. My gf used to live in New Zealand and her ex-husband was a keen cyclist - that's what he used to do and it worked apparently.

The problem is the bars may be too low with the stem flipped because it has quite a big "rise". Hard to explain in words but I'll try.

Stem is currently like this:
/
_
_

(with / being the stem and _ being the spacers)

If you set it like this:
\
_
_

The bars may end up too low because the stem itself has too much drop and the position you want is somewhere in between. Usually you could flip the stem (to drop the bars a lot) and add in spacers (to raise the bars back up a little) but it looks like the steerer has been cut fairly short so that won't work.

You can get a stem that has a less acute angle to make the positions in between possible though.

Could try this

Don't need to wait to get a bike fit, they'll give you a printout of your measurements so that you can setup all future bikes the same.

Thanks guys
so how does one put it back to factory settings then? sounds like it cant be done lol
if its cut, then erm not buying it..

as for the bike fit, well, they will be different bikes with 2 different frame sizes :)
