Are they normal gym bikes or proper spinning bikes? I find the big fat-seated horrible gym bikes a nightmare but the proper spinning bikes (after lots of adjustments) I find to not be too bad.

Sadly the normal gym bikes that force you into an upright position.

You should ask about a bike fit. They used to offer a free fit when you buy a bike, but i cant see that on their website anymore.

edit: also, XLS is a nice bike

Ooh...I'll ask whilst I'm there :) Thanks for the heads-up.

We'll be in a bit of a rush though so I'm not sure I'll be able to stick around that long.

I'm planning to upgrade the XLS brakes to TRP Hy/Rds once I find some cheap and in stock somewhere.

Hm is the FSA tempo track the same as a FSA tempo triple?
Tempted to bid on a new triple for my kona but wont use the chainrings.
Cant find the track version anywhere else.

You wont be able to run a track crank as a triple.
I think it might work as a double though.

edit: sorry, think i misread that. Do you plan on swapping your triple for a single (or double) ring?

Well I got a Kona Paddywagon with FSA tempo on it already, I thought that the FSA Tempo is the same whether its track or triple?

I would buy another chainset but the chainline is doing my head in as some chainset won't fit my current bottom bracket(don't mind changing it) and I would have to change the bottom bracket to match the chosen chainset however then again I'm not sure if the chainline would match the frame?
So confusing...

Most track cranks dont have the inner mounting points for a small chainring.
This photo shows and FSA Vero track crank (cant find a picture of a tempo):

Is there anything wrong with the crank you have on now? You could remove the inner ring and run it as a double (or remove 2 rings and run it as a single) if you wanted.

One of the guys at work who has signed up for the London Triathlon relay is planning on doing all his training on a bike at the gym because he doesn't have a bike. I've told him to pick something up, because practically any old second hand piece of junk is going to give him a better training experience than going to the gym. I'm not sure what he's planning to actually ride for the event, to be honest...

Nothing wrong with it :) just wanted to swap to silver ones as the black one is marking like crazy.
I think the vera is the updated version of tempo. I might look for the vera track then.
If I can get away with a tempo triple then I would go for it if it's cheap.

quick Q,
need a _CHEAP_ rear tyre, current one (this http://www.wiggle.co.uk/continental-ultra-race-road-tyre/ ) is no longer round, infact is positivly flat/worne out.
not sure if I should go for another one or one of these?
