Well that was the most unpleasant ride home I've ever had.

CONSTANT gale force headwinds. Down to 11-12mph in places....on the FLAT!

Just have to grin and laugh through it!

Whaaa? Surely you care about getting wet once your feet get soaked and then subsequently become cold. Thus defeating the object of just wearing Toe Thingys in the first place. You may as well go for full covers surely.

But I can relate with the struggle of pulling overshoes on! They keep snagging on cleats, straps and Velcro!

Never had that problem, tbh. I've worn Toe Thingys since September.

That sure was interesting. Almost got blown off numerous times, thank god for clipless pedals though - was just pedaling with my right foot just in case most of the time!

Hope you all braved it though :p

Yeah that was crazy... :o I literally saw a road sign slide through the road and smash into a curb! Wat..

I think it might rain tomorrow afternoon/evening but I am going to risk going in on the bike tomorrow. Just got some new overshoes, so I suppose I ought to put them to the test.

Had a practice TT this morning. It's 9.5 miles, just under 25 mins, depressingly 90 seconds slower than a month ago but that was in a race so extra adrenaline power!

Averaged 280w.... Going to need to do a lot more than 300w average to beat my previous time! I find I go out too slow to stop myself blowing, but then there's no prizes for finishing with legs left!

Fitted my Hy/Rds tonight. The cable pull is pretty ridiculous on them. I've read mixed things about being able to adjust it without ruining the hydraulic aspect of the brakes. Has anybody had experience of this?

Fairly consistent at 175lb or 79kg and 190cm.

I could drop closer to 170lb but would take a lot of effort and don't want to under eat and not fuel myself enough.

I'm the same height but 99 KG, that takes some power to shift (which I'm lacking), especially uphill!

Speaking of bodyweight, I can't seem to drop below 59kg for any amount of time. I can for a bit but then I feel a bit weak and my appetite seems to go into overdrive so I eat myself back up to 59-60kg.

Does this mean realistically I can't maintain a weight lower than 59kg or do I somehow need to discipline myself not to pig out (and improve my diet)? I don't want to be light to the point where I'm weakened by it.

59KG?

You are taking a chance cycling in the wind!
