I think the last few bits for my Raleigh build are here. Brake blocks, pedals, cables. Hopefully get the rest of it screwed back together this week...

Climbed Col de la Colombiere last summer, its a nice climb to have on your doorstep and there are lots of other good climbs around. I'd love to live in the mountains for cycling climbing then skiing in winter!

This summer's project is: http://www.sportcommunication.info/letourdumontblanc/parcours.php?langue=2 Ouch!

But we are going to do it over two days rather than the one that the sportive does!

no

I didn't say I ate that !!

I took with me 4 ceral bars and 2 energy bars
all I had to eat / drink was 1 bottle of water , 1 energy bar and 1 cereal bar

Just to add

I have an extremely High Metabolism

I used to sit around all day eating burgers etc. and I never put on weight, nor can I get rid of any !!

so, im wondering if this doesn't help me in anyway?

Stupid question time!

What size bolts would I need to replace my stem bolts (headset and handlebar ends) and front derailleur, mine have got very rusty.

I can cycle tonight in the wind when it's dry, or tomorrow with no wind in the wet...

Tomorrow takes it hands down. I am soooooo fed up of cycling in the wind.

There is something disheartening about the wind, it shouldn't matter as you should just put the same amount of effort in and get the same results in terms of fitness, but it just doesn't seem to work out like that.

I'm going wet and fast tomorrow myself, I can not wait for the clocks to change next week!

Having 8 bikes + trailer in the garage was doing my tree in (my DH bike, my xc bike, my ebike, my road bike, wifes xc bike, kids 20" bike, kids 16" bike, balance bike and bike trailer) so decided to get some extra storage and claim some space back. If anyone is looking for some extra bike storage, this arrived today:-

Can easily fit 3 adults bikes in it. Currently I have my ebike, wifes XC bike, kids 20" bike, kids 16" bike, balance bike and trailer in it. Gonna buy some hooks for the inside to hang helmets, bags etc up on the walls.

Very impressed with it. Unless someone has a go with an angle grinder, I don't think anyone is taking the bikes.

EDIT:- Oops - forgot the linky!

How deep is it? How much did it cost? How watertight is it? I'm eyeing up something like that. I've currently got one bike in the conservatory, one in my neighbour's garage and two kids bikes in the shed, along with mountains of crap.

Sorry, forgot the link - post updated.

I was looking to get my bikes insured but I cant as they need to be indoors, in a shed or garage or somewhere, my bikes are locked outside in the back garden, so no insurance company will touch them

This is insurance approved - phoned my current insurers up (Direct line) and said the bikes will be in this or the garage - no probs they said.

Are you on the Scionzier side or the Grand Bornand side? Usually stay near La Clusaz when we're in the Alps, lovely part of the world. The Colombiere is a great climb from the Scionzier side but the last km is brutal, steep, totally exposed and just to rub it in, the finish line is in site the whole bleeding way but never seems to get any closer!
