Vittoria Open Pave in 25mm flavour (the best tyre in the world ever) are £33.50 at Ribble.

I'm a rubber fetishist.

If I go ahead with riding the Paris-Roubaix sportive next year I'll probably end up buying some ludicrously pricy tyres like those in a bid to not die... That and double taping my bars! To be honest, I'll probably take my TDF for that because it's a flat ride so the weight of the bike isn't such a big deal, it's got mudguards, and if I bend it I won't cry as much as if it were my Planet-X.

Campy Zondas from wiggle at the moment are a bargain

Ribble were doing campagnolo wheel/tyre/tube bundles recently, they might be worth a look, if those deals are still on. The tyres may be arse, though.

Here you go. Campagnolo Zonda bundle.

For £299.99 you get:

Camapgnolo Zonda wheels
2 x 700x25 Vredestein Fortezza Senso Xtreme Weather Tyres
3x Ultralite tubes

As I say, I can't vouch for those tyres. Mind you, I can't vouch for the wheels, as I've not used them either!

Hmm, those tyres get 4 stars at Bikeradar and 4.5 stars on road.cc, so maybe they're OK after all!

The wheel's are considered one of if not the best off the peg wheels sub-£300.

They're lovely tyres but green... I like them so much though my next bike will be built around green tyres. :o

That is beautiful but you need to replace those rims! Steel rims don't stop very well at all.

Love the bar tape. I'm now on a mission to find you a like for like replacement.

Well its funny you should say that. It was delivered on the 16th to her parents home (she flew back to England for a week yesterday). No one can find it..

And they're doing 10% off over the BH weekend

45quid/tyre for those! mental price.. :) but that looks like a banging deal, I'd prefer to go custom built with hplus rims like you did tho.

You can get just the wheels for 225 which is ridiculous given my Aksiums costs 200 from my LBS a few years ago. Am tempted to get a backup / replacement pair just because they're cheap...

New H Plus Son Archetype rim wheels with Michelin Pro 4 SC tyres, and I've got a Charge Scoop saddle on there now. I'm happy with how it all rides and I think it looks pretty good now as well!

I'll sling up some pics of my old bike as well, once I get my new shifters and saddle and whatnot on there.

Same rim as what I went for when I got my powertap rebuilt.

It's stiffer and rides smoother than the old narrower and shallower Fulcrum rim that it replaced. Done at least 500km now and it's still nicely true, the braking track does lose the neat black anodising though.

Happy with it so I'm going to get a matching front shortly, got to decide on hub first.

I read somewhere that the H Plus Son Archetype is the same rim as the Wheelsmith Race 23. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

It's getting colder on a morning (in the middle of August *sigh*) and I'm thinking it may be time to start wearing a base layer. Are there any places y'all would recommend where a simple long sleeve baselayer doesn't cost £40+? It'll be for commuting so I'll need a fair few of them.
