Stem is fine. If you need to go lower, get a smaller spacer under it.
Dont have the stem hard up against the headset, use at least 1 small spacer.

Well, to be honest, I went there with the sole purpose of getting a better time than you ;). I was sucking air big time by the top and had to sit down to finish, but I made it. The downhill stretch back to the bottom is a fun ride though!

I gotta give it another shot tomorrow.. balls out and I'll get close/beat you ;) we'll see ha.

and my bike creaks soooooo much now! it can't be BB, getting out of saddle it makes no noise.. while sitting it creaks, moving around the saddle it creaks too..

guessing it's either headset or seat post! but how would I fix a creaky/squeaky seat post?

Good luck! I hope you beat me :D

Is it a carbon seat post as well as frame? My GT Zaskar was creaking when I sat and pedalled, turned out the frame was cracked right by the seat post, I really hope this isn't the case for you!

Grease that bad boy up.

Saddle rails!
Either where they are clamped to the seatpost or where they attach to the seat.
Get them greased :)

In fact, sod it, I'll do it now! :D

Mission failed.

To remove the fork I have to remove the compression ring in the headset to drop the fork out.

This happens to be made of plastic... So yes, I snapped a piece off. I've reassembled everything now and will order a few replacement compression rings before attempting again.

Quite annoyed :(

WTF has happened to garmin connect?

I havnt bothered with the new 'Garmin Express' for a while because i'm on ubuntu and it's not compatible. Just tried to use it on my windows machine...this is the worst bit of software i'v ever seen?!

It just doesnt work at all
1- It tells me my garmin needs an update. I click update and it says it has installed the update. Next time I plug in the garmin, it tells me i need the same update again :(
2- It wont actually upload anything. Claims to be uploading to garmin website, nothing ever happens. Tried deleting everything from the activities folder except the 1 most recent ride, still wont upload.
3- It gives me UAC popups at random times and I dont know why?

For something so simple that only needs to transfer text-based files from my computer to garmin's website, it really is hopelessly bad.

Tried reinstalling it a couple of times. Now lost interest and gone back to strava. Seems like they have spent too much time trying to make a fancy website with segments, like strava, and ignored the basics of making something which works :/

yea I hate garmin express and don't see why it needs to be a program on my computer.

I've not had too many problems with the new Garmin Express. I find it useful now because of the new feature where you can link your connect account to Strava and it will automatically sync with Strava too.

I get the constant update message too though. Grrrrr.

Plug garmin in and the ride appears on strava with my calories burned in myfitnesspal. Seems to work alright, but I also get it always showing I need an update.

But I use linux most of the time, so I have to upload manually :(
