Yea its good hilly country and quiet car wise around there.
Last time i went down the Cross O Greet road was over 12 months ago with a few guys from work (missed this years outing).

Steep bit you mentioned;

Ian Bibby is KoM....something to aim for! :D

Ah yes, that's the bit. Though flicking through your route and the Keasden Road climb looks really hard!

So on Thursday after work I went out on a run on the bike by myself through some single track country roads. Not going for pbs on descents or anything crazy like that when I am told a cow jumped out from the side of the road. I made impact according to Strava at 31.5 Mph. It looks as if I may have scrubbed off a few mph before impact.
The following car called the Ambulance and I got taken to hospital. Thankfully no broken bones but Very sore.

Back arm and shoulder look like this.

Not seen the bike yet but my dad and brother say there is not a mark on it except a killed front wheel. Might need to get it properly looked at as its taken quite a high speed impact.
Short term memory still seems messed up which is a little worrying.

Ouch! Glad your and it your injuries appear to be only minor! I recently had a 40mph impact to a rockface and after a rear tyre blowout, my bike was miraculously fine baring the puncture!

Have found out since I have four crushed vertebrae but the spinal specialist has told me I dont need an op but need to wear a back brace for the next few months when not sleeping and that because I'm young(er) my bones should fuse together ok.
Frustrating but I reckon after a month I may be able to get on the turbo trainer to try and keep some fitness!

Also Tour of Britain goes up the infmous ditchling beacon today (estimated at 2:57) be interesting what times the pro's on strava post for ditchling beacon compared to mine!

Good ride out to the Tour of Britain today, rode from home to Easebourne, just north of Midhurst, so only about 30 miles in, managed to find a good hill and watch them come up and then pass up the road. Didn't have to hang around too long as turned up about 45 minutes before the main bunch came through. Long old day, but glad I went out. Couple of pictures on my Strava ride.

If it's any reassurance I found my road rash cleared up fairly quick without any pain after the initial sting!

Got up early to go on a group ride, went to the meeting point, didn't find anyone, decided to go for a ride on my own, soon realised that i was far too tired and came home to sleep until 3PM. On the plus side i found a nice place to lock my bike at the bottom of the stairs, so i don't have to carry it up and down all the time.

that's the norm with road rash.. deeper cuts are what hurts! especially when the dead skin starts coming off and catching on your clothes eurgh..

I woke up this morning and i had a small hole in my arm where one of the stitches was, not sure what's going on, it seemed fully healed the other day  seems to be better this afternoon thankfully!

Might be where the wound has some crap init , one of my scars healed then open up again went back to see the surgeon and he said it was fairly common with road injuries. The wound has only just healed properly in the last few days. Only had the accident 11 weeks ago!

Like has been said deep cuts/surgical cuts take a lot longer to heal.

I'm back at the hospital on Tuesday to hopefully be told the brace can come off and I can put full weight on my leg again and start getting back on the bike again.

No riding today as I went into town to wander around with a few people and then to eat at Byron Burger (disappointing). It always feels a bit weird when I don't get much riding in in a day but I guess tomorrow I'm planning on doing quite a long one so that should make up for it a little.

That's some nice road rash there! I can't compete with that ever. Get well soon :)

I've not been riding much other than two days commute last week but thought I'd show what I put together today. It's loved or hated, it's not beautiful but I can see why it's the shape it is etc. Felt Ar1 frame with AR2 spec so Ultegra di2 and 3T Accelero 40 wheels.

Why would you call that ugly? Love that frame (although I seem to have a bit of a thing for the aero bikes). Just needs the spacers removed!

Been playing around with my seat height and my left knee is now bggered. Not too sure what is up as right one is fine. May lower it a bit and see how I get one. Should have really just left it where it was :(

Still, main aim for today was to look a bit more at my cadence ... average last week was only 77 so consciously tried to up it a bit. 83 seems a good enough number now - averaging clearly involved me being lazy and freewheeling. Went off way too fast at the start but there was a guy drafting that I was trying to shake or at least keep them working

Going riding with a mate next week, thinking of meeting him South of London somewhere, was thinking about doing Box Hill/Leith Hill combo, or is Box Hill still shut, he lives London Bridge, so anywhere good that is within access from that line would be good. Nothing too major a route, 45 miles would be a good distance for him.

Just found this one actually, looks like a nice flattish gentle ride.
