Quick post from majorca, just been sat having dinner next to Dave Brailsford with laura trott jo Rowsell Jason Kenny sitting about 10 ft away. Nico Roche, Ben swift, elia viviani, Leo Konig all too. Riding with some of the sky guys tomorrow just need to get some photos now.

Wow! What were they all eating? Are they as anal about their food/calories as we all imagine? ;)

I'm hoping you'll get some recordings of your rides or have you got a GoPro/VIRB lined up? Would've been cool to have one if not!

Seriously have a great time, don't overdo the first couple of days trying to keep up/drop them (:D) as you'll be kicking yourself later in the week. The trainers i'm sure will say the same and I guess they'll also help with recovery food/diet etc too!?

Most of all have fun and soak it all up, it's a once in a lifetime experience! :)

WOW! Awesome :)

How is the weather doing over there?

What do you guys use to cover your nose and mouth in this bitterly cold air?

I picked up a reduced stretchy scarf thing from Trespass that I thought would be ideal but straight off you can feel it restricting your breathing slightly and after 10 minutes it is loaded with moisture from your breath and breathing becomes really difficult.

If I don't use anything my lungs feel like ice pops within 5 minutes :(

I just man up and breath it in.

(and bitterly regret that decision every time :p)

:D

I'm getting back on the bike after 3 1/2 months off... it is hard enough as it is :p

At least I remembered my gloves today :p

Ah, I can imagine. Not a fun time of year to be getting back into it :)

To be honest I think pretty much anything that helps will also hinder your breathing. In this weather I'm wearing a coat with a fairly large..er..bit that goes around your neck. I pull that up sometimes to breathe into it to let my throat warm up a bit. I also try to remember to breathe through my nose a fair bit as that also gives your throat a rest from the cold air.

Yeah it isn't the best time to start again but with no space to use a turbo I could keep on making excuses for another 3 1/2 months :p

TBH today was about as cold as I would go out. 3'C and the puddles at the side of the road were frozen. Roads were ok because the wind has dried them out.

I have a planet x merino neck warmer which I pull up over my mouth and nose. It does the job, though I does mean my glasses fog up super quickly at the lights.

I totally messed them up several times until I finally got it right. Good luck :)

Quick update as I've just been cleaning the bike and sorting bits out - Both the front and rear lock knobs are unable to thread into the actuator arm. I haven't tried adjusting the rear brake so I'm surprised that they're both like that. I did try making small adjustments to the barrel but it's nowhere near enough to compensate which suggests to me either the cable wasn't installed properly in the first place!

To be honest it wouldn't shock me if it was installed incorrectly by the shop. Not many places know how to deal with HY/RDs as they're still fairly unusual brakes.
