Started wearing a buff recently and it works a treat keeping your face a little a bit warmer. Only problem I have is that whenever I stop at lights, the heat from my breath fogs over my sunglasses :(. Any ideas to combat this problem?

Anti fog wipes from Halfords work for me, when I remember to do them.

I'm giving away an old MTB this weekend to a mate who doesn't have a station hack (his 50mile round trip commute might not be possible every day in the winter) and having the Bryant is making me question keeping the FG, especially as my other station hack hybrid is now SS.

Yeah i've been tempted to upgrade to a double, can't remember the last time i used the 34 on mine, but then i don't use the bike enough to warrant it, and i'd HAVE to get a Red to go with the rest :p

Today's lesson; strong wind + panniers = terror. Today was the first time I've cycled in fierce wind, I can't say that I enjoyed it. Still, at least I can't be accused of being a fair weather cyclist :)

I almost got blown over at the lights at Parliament Sq! Had to unclip with my other foot to stay balanced at a standstill. Wasn't much fun.

Dropped down to my spinny gear a couple of days ago so the headwind just feels like normal. Felt a bit sorry for some of the people i passed though, they looked very miserable.

There's a guy on a fixie who I share about half of my route with, he refuses to unstrap when he gets to traffic lights and so does that standing back-and-forth rocking thing to stay balanced. It seemed as though he was going to be blown over more than once while indulging in this little trick. He also seemed to struggle even on the flat, but out of respect (laziness) I hung back instead of overtaking him.

I imagine I looked pretty miserable this morning, but all I could think on the way in was how glad I was not to be using public transport. That is true misery!

I've still got that Brompton on the try-before-you-buy scheme. Another day at a conference in London and I couldn't face the walk from Victoria to Pall Mall in painful shoes so I took the Brompton up in rush hour. I still hate the way it rides but by god it was so convenient to just unfold and ride off. I just don't think I could live with one.

In other news my fixie fun came to an abrupt end with a puncture, night before last. Time for some new wheels I think, because a combination of rusty rims, knacked rim tape and crap all over the road is popping them.

For some reason I've lost the motivation to get out on the bike at the weekend. I'm tempted to blame it on the weather, but that would be pretty dishonest. I thought that it might be because I'm getting bored of cycling alone, and now I'm wondering if it's worth looking into joining a cycling club. I've never cycled with anybody else though, so I'm not sure what to expect. Is it worth a shot, or should I try something else?

Catching and overtaking another cyclist in front. A scooter though, thats worth bragging about....lol...!!!. :D
Sadly it wasn't as impressive as it might first seem. The woman riding the scooter was 300lb+ and a learner; a combination that seemed to limit her to about 20mph.

Saundie, wondering if you can help with an alfine issue I'm having; changing is fine most of the time although I do occasionally have to stop pedalling to change, but when it rains the shifting turns to crap and yesterday in the rain I couldn't get to the bottom four gears.

Any ideas?

The yellow marks line up in 4th.
