I only ever fit Schwalbe Ultremo's to my road bike now, not because I'm a tart and insist on fancy\expensive tyres for commuting, but because they are unbelievably easy to take off\put on.

I had Schwalbe Blizzard tyres before then, nightmare.

It depends on your rims too though - when Stu borrowed your spare Ultremo he didn't find them that easy to get on.

I can get Michelin Krylions on and off without levers when using my Easton EA50s but I need ridiculously strong levers to get them on and off my aksiums.

I really wanted an Aeroad CF 8.0 but they were sold out and Canyon told me it'd be Jan-Feb before they'd have stock of the new 2013 models. That was too long for me to wait so I went for a customised Rose Xeon CRS-5000.

I will upload some pics when I get it. Hopefully will get to christen it with a London to Brighton run this weekend.

nice. i like the look of canyon and rose. lovely bikes

Help!!

I want a nice singlespeed commuter and have access to the cycle scheme now so it's time to take advantage!

I went to look at...

...and fell a little in love!

Any thoughts on the above and anything else I should look at, apart from a charge plug?

nice. i'd love a single speed but just cant justify it at the minute. both nice bikes but can you justify over 700 quid on a singlespeed?

Trust me they will go on,

it took me hours and hours to get my gatorskin hardshells on my fixed gear, they felt 'too big' for the rim as in you couldnt even seat one side properly without something popping out.

got there in the end after lots of sweat, skinless fingers and swearing.

Maybe that's where I've been going wrong. Not swearing enough at the ****** ******* tyre

Sure, why not? If one rides it all the time, they are also practically maintenance free. A few of my friends ride nothing but single speed. Inc century rides etc. Some probably cost in excess of 2K but they are bespoke bikes custom built.

Gave my 39/52 cranks a ride tonight, have to use the smaller ring on one of the hills now, but there was a nasty headwind tonight.

Had what I think was a little chainslip on one of the middle rings on the cassette once, not too sure why.

Not touched the rear derailleur adjustment and it is a complete new chain ring/chain/cassette so shouldn't be worn!

My mate has the Canyon Ultimate AL with Di2. It's pretty good and he seems happy with after switching from a full Ultegra Gruppo but personally I would wait before jumping on the first gen as it will only get better/trickle down.

Yea Canyon really do have incredible bikes for the price, next year when i buy i new bike im already 90% sure im going Canyon, and this is coming from someone who was deadset on a Pinarello

Finally got myself a pair of Oakley's. Nothing super special, but fit very nicely and are dead comfy. Any guessers for how much they were? :p
