Jono, you missed the important stuff, where's the bike?

Also, I'm going to start spinning classes once a week, probably, which aspect of cycling will this form of exercise benefit most does anyone know?

It's more of a winter thing, and I want to get some swimming in too, so shall make an evening of it once a week. Was just wondering which aspect of cycling might benefit.

But yeah, I do agree.

Ouch! Hope you cleaned those wounds with an iodine sponge like the Pros! ;)

Get well soon.

Nah all I could find was dog bowl water. Dog saliva has healing properties, doesn't it?
I don't want no yellow arms! I used some kind of soapy stuff, then covered myself with savalon spray. I think I got all the gritty bits out :)

Bike pics... Well I didn't actually take any. However the bike hospital have done some fettling and replaced bar tape, filed down bits that were scraped - don't need a new wheel hopefully due to that... just need to take it easy for a while to make sure that it won't re-puncture the front tyre/tube (fingers crossed).

Also don't seem to need a new shifter (yay!) That's been tidied up a bit apparently and whatnot.

Maybe I'll post pics when I see Cadwalader (my bike) when I get home.

Oh - they also fixed my shoe too :D

Cost less than 100 pounds for the bits they replaced/labour... so I'm happy. so far.

If you want to get better at riding your bike, then ride your bike.

There is no substitute.

I agree. Spinning is terrible. Just ride up more hills than pretending to turn the dial to add more resistance like I do :o

Just remember to actually stay on the bike, rather than fall off it.

I do fancy a turbo trainer for winter though, although I do have some roadracer2 mudguards... Well I did. I think they got mashed too.

£100 isn't bad considering the massiveness of the crash I suppose.

Why do you say spinning is terrible? I like the idea of it..

Gah, my cycling partner has bailed. :( Well, I'm still going to try this 20mph run, I'll just likely fail.

Which shire are you from? Can you be any more specific?

I personally don't like spinning as even with the aircon going it's sat on a stationary bike in a sweaty room full of sweaty people and you can't perve on the nice bottoms properly (if there are any) because there's a mirror on the wall so you get caught out.

I think I just prefer doing it "properly" outside, because I like being outside.

I used to enjoy it more when I had someone I knew to go with so that they'd tell me off if they saw me trying to slack off. I don't have that anymore :(

Maybe I'll give it another go :)

This bike is tempting me to get one the same but in the right size, whats the opinions on Merckx bikes? Also this bike has a 105 cranks which i believe use a standard square taper BB does this mean the frame is only capable of taking square taper BB's or will BB30's fit if i ever want to change it?

on a buying note, I've just had ANOTHER near miss with the local park and ride buses, really thinking about helmet cams but I don't want to spend any money...............
I'm guessing I could spare £20-30 or so tops, doesn't have to be HD just good enough to see the licence plate and the stupid look on their faces!

Don't even need plates, the company will know who was were. Something like this would probably do.

its a press fit bottom bracket, definetly not square taper.

Nice price too for that quality of frame but depinding on your size there are far better bergains to be had.

Aerobic endurance.

Spinning is terrible.

 I like spinning. It's not as good as good as actually riding your bike but a proper spinning class is much better than sitting at home on a turbo/rollers.
