According to this:

http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb...ite.3.blue.white.silver/11832/56799/#geometry

Its a 50cm frame..

Here's another set of Giant size charts that shows how a Giant sized frame compares to other size frames:

http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/technology/compactroad/57/

All very confusing, hence why I gave up trying to pick a bike online and went to a shop to try some bikes :)

I went through that other link you gave me last night, came back that i need a 51 frame (c-c) (c-t is 53) but becuase it says im over 6 foot, then that would be too small, so general a couple of sixzes up which would make me a c-c of 54

and yes ordering online is the wrong this to do in this case !!

Nice weather today, managed 50km, creeping closer to 30kmh average over distance including a few cat 4 climbs. Tough headwind coming back to town so little off my PB.

Saw a tortoise, lizard and a 6 foot black snake crossing the road

I need to get out today, but as we've just bought a house, DIY is taking up most weekends. Grrr. At least I'm back on it in the weekdays.

My house is at the foot of a 20% hill (it's ****ing massive, and really long), I need to be able to blast up that by at least this time next year.

BIG UPDATE on me finding a bike

i came back from a shop with a Big Smile on my face

Popped into Sigma Sport and Ben spent a long time with me, took me about 20 mins to get sized up, put all the details into the computer and came back with 2 printouts

Told him i want to get into Sportives and after the sizing he said i should be on a 56 frame, so off we went and looked at the computer and tried best to match , my reach, stem length seat height etc etc and the specialized Roubix came out the best fit.
so he took a 56 Roubix off the shelf and it felt really comftable, he said we will try you on a trek madone 56 , which we did , but the headtube was too short for me and i must admit it didnt feel right.

so there we have it, i am made for a Roubix 56cm!

This one they have instock :

They have a big back log so it wont be ready untill the 22nd :( IF i decide to buy now..

Hang on! You went to Sigma? They are my local store, a little out if the way for you aren't they?

I could have recommended them to you as they are great at fitting and will discount the fee from any purchase.

It's a brilliant store.

Yes i did !! lol

only an hours away from me, and a big store, and i wanted to see what they had etc

What discount do you mean?

just spent an hour looking for that bike , and sigma has it at the cheapest, evans want 2200 ! shame i cant get one this week but sigma has a good price , iits in stock so i am going for it now i think, ill get pedals etc from them at the same time

They do a full fitting service for about £120. Takes three hours and includes saddle position, stem and cleats. If you have the fitting and then buy a bike based upon it they give you the £120 back off the cost of the bike.

Plus you can go back for tweaking as often as you like.

It's not often that Sigma are the cheapest but it does happen. You tend to pay a premium but you get very good service and a lot of very good advice.

cool

cheers for that, their online store says £200 , ill give them a call tommorow and order the bike with BG fit

thanks :)

It's a shame they're not closer to me (Manchester). I bought my bike from Sigma but online. That fitting service sounds good. I'd definitely have used that one as getting my bike set up so as not to aggravate my dodgy knee was a right pain.

yeah, they do seem good

did you get the bike set up properly in the end? sounds like you need to get one fitted becuase of your knee

I no longer need to go back to Giles Cycles now for a test run, i think Sigma will be a better choice anyway as they do a "proper" fit

I managed to sort it myself through trial and error. It was mainly the cleat position and angle I had to get right. I suffer from an impinged fat pad in my left knee (made worse after a quad sprain while barbell squatting a while ago). It flares up now and again and hurts like hell when it's inflamed.

that must be about to set you back a fair bit! strange how they didn't say the Sectur as it has the same frame geometry as the roubix?
