Need a different saddle or new bibs, getting saddle sore between the legs, gave it a few days break but no better. Not changed anything on the bike so not sure why its started to happen all of a sudden, warmer so sweating more perhaps.

Currently using Altura Pro Gel bibs, might look a bit higher up price wise.

To those of you who run as well as cycle; do you find that running deminishes your cycling performance? Since I started running at the begining of August I've noticed that riding is quite a lot harder on my legs, and I am noticably slower. I just want to know whether it's common, rather than seeking any specific advice.

I'm currently training for a half marathon and haven't done as much running as I should but I am running at my fastest ever pace because of the amount of cycling I do. I think they go hand in hand.

I wish I skipped buying a few pairs of cheap shorts and instead just bought one pair of expensive shorts.

I've got some cheap (still £30!) Altura shorts too and the pads are a bit rubbish I think.

Woo, weather is looking good for a ride this evening - dry and mild. Still not got my fancy bright light so got to stick to well lit roads, which is a bit of a bore, but hey ho. I'll get my 15 miles or so in. I'm hoping we can get a decent ride in on Saturday... I couldn't get out last week and the week before was a late start followed by a very easy ride.

I've been running for a long time but only took cycling up about 3 months ago.
I thought I would be Bradley Wiggins within a week because of all my running but nothing could be further from the truth.
I suppose I could say that I'm still struggling on two hills I have to ride up but I am a lot better.
I am running my fastest times also.

Had a few guys in today talking about it. Al ogg is the top dog with VC Disaster he was in getting a 14t to replace his 15t as he said he was spinning too fast. He is going for the level 2 coach as you need a coach per session really.

I think you pay £10.50 per session for two sessions then do a two hour session making it around £70 to do the accreditation BUT if you have a race license you can just dive on and race without doing it.

I'll need to look into it further. Apparently it was closed today due to the lighting not being right for the UCI or something.....weird.
It's about the same sort of cost to do it at Herne Hill. You have to do an induction session to learn how the track works and where you ride and pass, then some beginners sessions, then you're ready to race with the intermediates. Most of it is learning track discipline so you can race safely.

It doesn't really diminish my cycling. If I'm riding fixed gear, my legs tend to beef right up and it slows my running down, but mainly because I'm carrying additional weight on my legs. It definitely stops my knees getting painful on the bike. However, when I'm running long distances, like at the end of the summer when I've been entering a lot of events, the running has forced weight off my legs. I've not noticed it slow me down though.

Finally got round to purchasing some lights.

Up front ive bought a moon XP 500 which worked out at 86.39 from merlin cycles
and on the back ive gone for a Blackburn Flea 2.0 USB Rear LED Light which worked out at 17.96 also from merlin cycles.

They were the cheapest around on the xp500 light and it gave an extra 10% off on the basket which put the lights at the prices above.

Lovely evening for a ride, but I'll save my energy for tomorrows commute.

I hope my Exposure Diablo is still in good working condition after being left alone all summer!

Got out and did 15 miles. Really nice evening for it, though one stretch early on in he ride was on a surprisingly exposed ridge so I had a hell of a wind to ride into. I plodded my way round pretty slowly, as I'd slept terribly last night and was knackered. Still, it all helps. Now to look forward to Saturday's ride - I'm hoping to do a fair bit of climbing to get up to 10,000 feet in the last 4 weeks on Strava.

Couldn't be further from the truth up here :(

Going to work it stayed dry until I was near my work but was hell of a cold.
Going to GFs it was chucking it down with a slight crosswind.
Going home from hers in the dark there was chucking it down the whole way really.

I kind of get a buzz of sitting at about 25mph on a flat wet road....feels different.

Whee, I've sold a bunch of stuff on ebay. Once I get done with posting it all, I should have £40-50 to spend, plus my spending money at the end of the month. Think I'll be hitting up ebay to buy a few bike kit...

So, remember when Lidl sold a track pump for £5? Well, mine broke within like a week of my buying it.

Give me a good reason why I shouldn't replace it with this. I don't pump my tyres beyond 120, and Blackburn are well rated so... anything I'm missing?
