Yeah I did. I was going to buy an Aeroad CF with Campag Chorus gruppo and Cosmic Carbones for the same price but they had no stock at all.

The Rose isn't an aero frame like the Aeroad, but I could spec it with better 3T finishing kit.

How did you have the balls to commit to a bike without trying it first?! I was looking at getting a Rose Carbon Pro-RS3000.

From what I've read, the calculators on the Rose or Canyon sites seem to do a good job at determining the right size.

Although, the size/fitting is generally easy for me....smallest everything.:D

Hurrah, my XM-L T6 light has arrived. £20 got me the torch, the mount, two batteries, a charger and a rear light with a ropey switch and half a dozen disco strobe modes. I've got the batteries charging and I'll try to give it a road test tomorrow.

Thanks, my local cyclesurgery stock both so I'll enquire tomorrow. I prefer the look of the SKS tbh they look a bit more sturdy to the cruds.

I fitted the Crud MKIIs to my Defy Composite 3 about 10 days ago. Took about an hour, they seem fine to me, do the job anyway.

They rattled a bit on the first ride but a bit of fiddling seems to have fixed that, they've even survived a quick slide down a wet muddy road on mine and the bikes sides.

Pulled my calf muscle again playing water polo last night.

Had a short ride after work and it didn't feel too bad as it's not stretched as much on the bike.

There are more things to consider than just weight.
I would choose a bigger, heavier aero wheelset over a lightweight set, but different people prefer different things.

Like what?
As i said the terrain would be mixed and not exclusively flat or hilly, an all rounder would be best for me i think.
I end up looking at other wheels (eg American Classics 420 aero 3 but these are more £££) but keep coming back to the RS80's.

What is the warranty on RS80's, 1 year?

Aerodynamics and stiffness mainly.
Generally, a deeper rim will be better at smoothing the airflow but will also be heavier.
As i said, i would happily sacrifice weight for a better aero rim, but thats down to personal preference and riding style.

stiffness is also a factor when looking at superlight wheels. There's no point in buying a 1kg wheelset if they flop around all over the place.

look at my cadence !
:D
haha, well done! Thats quite an improvement.

Thanks.
RS80's are supposed to be stiff and soak up the road buzz, i think i will be better off with them over something more aero as they will be a "general use" wheel, riding to work as well as other more specific rides with friends etc.

Noticed Ribble (which i live near) have 10% off wheels but the RS80's arent in stock. Typical! Merlin which is also local have them at a half decent price though.
